Another day, another wedding! 🫶🏼

1. Blaming myself when I wasn’t happy with the end result.
Sometimes it genuinely isn’t the makeup it’s the canvas. Skin texture, dryness, dehydration and the overall condition of the skin can have such a huge impact on how makeup sits. I’ve learnt to understand the skin rather than automatically blame my technique.

2. Overcomplicating my systems.
I used to think everything needed a complicated process or 17-step system 😂 Now I focus on simple systems that actually make my business easier to run.

3. Feeling like I need to work 24/7.
When you work for yourself, there is ALWAYS something you could be doing. I’ve learnt that not every email needs an immediate response and I don’t need to spend my weekends working unless it genuinely needs my attention.

4. Stop reinventing the wheel every week.
I used to constantly feel like I needed to change, improve or create something new. I’ve learnt that consistency and good systems are SO much more valuable than constantly changing things just for the sake of it.

5. Stop trying to please everyone.
You can’t create work that everyone loves, and that’s okay. I’ve learnt to trust my style, my skills and the clients I’m creating for.
