With over 30 years of experience in the hairdressing industry, salon owner Julia brings a wealth of knowledge, countless qualifications, and a passion for excellence. Originally from the south of England, Julia’s training is among the best in the business—including years spent teaching and mentoring the next generation of stylists in a college setting. Each team member is essential to the success of Union Jacks, combining outstanding technical skills with a strong focus on client care. At Union Jacks, we’re committed to using trusted Australian brands that align with our values—natural, sustainable, and results-driven. We proudly use Kevin Murphy for colour and care, along with K18 for bond rebuilding, Evy for long-lasting smoothing, and the Happy Hairbrush for effortless detangling. A client came in last week worried her K18 wasn't the real thing, and after a proper look at it with her, she was right.
The giveaway was the packaging, the font, the logo placement and the box finish were all slightly off compared to genuine K18. It's a good reminder that counterfeit haircare is a real problem, especially with a brand as in demand as K18, and it's not always obvious at a glance.
If you're ever unsure about a product you've bought elsewhere, bring it in and we're happy to take a look. Every K18 product we stock and use at the salon comes through authorised channels, so you know exactly what you're putting on your hair.

We recommend to pop a treatment through your hair once a week on wash day and trim your hair every 12 weeks!!

If your hair looks a bit tired but the shape is still good, that's treatment territory. If the ends are scraggly but the hair itself feels strong, book the trim.
