Iโve always been a bit adverse to using instruments in my massage therapy sessions.

Side lying neck release using firm thumb pressure.
This angle allows the larger muscle attachments of the upper traps and lev scap to relax. Itโs a firm foundation to start before going up into the cranial neck muscle attachments which tend to be a lot more sensitive and also where you may find the treacherous headache trigger points.
Basically here were just laying a good foundation for effective neck tension release ๐
