The Omega 3 Index test is an easy test and gives so much info on how much omega 3 is in your blood. I use this for the people who think that having fish and avocado and couple of times a week is enough as it’s an obvious way to show your levels. Diet is rarely enough, and supplementing with quality high dose fish oils is a good at to ensure you get enough omega 3 fatty acids to keep your brain functioning optimally. Please see me in clinic to get the test and the best supplements for your best health.

Age is not an excuse to stop exercising. The stronger you stay, the better you age. It doesn’t take much, but you do have to start now. I just posted a link to a deal at the gym where I teach Pilates. You can do exercise at home. You can walk. You can use the two minutes every time your kettle is boiling to do squats, or pushups. There is always time. What you need is to start..
See me in clinic to chat about feeling WELL, so you can start doing more, so you feel GREAT.

Physical fitness does not appear to peak at one universal age. Different physical capacities reach their highest point years apart, and what happens after that peak is strongly influenced by how active we remain.

Researchers followed 427 Swedish adults from age 16 to 63, repeatedly measuring aerobic capacity, upper-body muscular endurance, and leg power over 47 years. Relative aerobic capacity peaked at about age 26 in men and 31 in women. Bench-press endurance peaked later, around 36 in men and 34 in women. Leg power peaked earliest, at an estimated age 27 in men and 19 in women.

The more important finding may be what happened afterward. Decline was initially slow, but accelerated with age. By 63, participants had lost roughly 30% to 48% of their peak capacity depending on the measure. Relative aerobic capacity was about 37% lower in women and 40% lower in men, while vertical-jump performance had fallen 48% and 41%, respectively.

Physical activity did not appear to prevent the biological timing of peak performance, but it was associated with substantially better performance across adulthood. People who went from inactive to active had approximately 6% to 7% higher aerobic capacity, 11% better bench-press endurance, and 4% better vertical-jump performance in the study models.

That distinction matters. Aging eventually reduces physical capacity even in highly trained athletes, but the trajectory is not fixed. At age 63, participants in this general population cohort retained about 65% of peak aerobic capacity and muscular endurance, while prior data cited by the authors suggest master endurance athletes of the same age can retain more than 80%. That comparison comes from separate athlete studies, so it should not be interpreted as proof that training alone explains the entire gap.

Peak performance may come earlier than most people realize, but the rate of decline remains meaningfully associated with physical activity.

Oxalate in spinach and almonds may worsen gut inflammation in IBD 23/08/2026

I often find people who are trying to be more healthy can inadvertently sabotage themselves by including too many oxalate heavy foods. Almonds, spinach, and other green plant foods are high in oxalates. A little is fine. And maybe not every day. A diverse diet is often helpful. Please see me in clinic to discuss your gut and your diet, so that I can help to revive your health.

“The findings do not call for eliminating plant foods from the IBD diet. Rather, they suggest that for genetically susceptible individuals, even moderate oxalate intake may promote mucosal inflammation and that prior dietary studies in IBD may have been confounded by unmeasured differences in oxalate exposure or handling. Importantly, it is possible to maintain a nutritionally complete, plant-based dietary pattern while reducing total oxalate intake.”

Oxalate in spinach and almonds may worsen gut inflammation in IBD Spinach, almonds and sweet potatoes are celebrated as some of the healthiest foods on the planet. But for the millions of Americans living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a new study from the UNC School of Medicine suggests that these same foods may be quietly worsening gut inflammation throu...

Magnesium Threonate is specific for sleep and cognitive function. When taking magnesium, it is important to take a specific form which will be functional and effective. Many over the counter products are mostly mag oxide or citrate, and are not as effective for brain health, not muscle relaxation. I stock a large variety of magnesium, as am very particular about getting the right form for people to take. I have mag Threonate which I compound, alongside other sleep support nutrients. Please see me in clinic to discuss your needs. www.reviveyourhealth.com.au and click Book Now for an appointment.

A groundbreaking January 2025 study reveals that magnesium L-threonate, a specialized form designed to cross the blood-brain barrier, reversed cognitive age by 7.5 years in just six weeks.
Participants taking 2 grams daily showed significant improvements in working memory, reaction time, and sleep quality compared to placebo.
What makes this form unique is its ability to pe*****te brain tissue where it matters most, unlike traditional magnesium supplements that primarily benefit peripheral tissues.

Parents urged to restrict cow's milk for toddlers 10/08/2026

It’s not that milk is “bad” but it’s not a food group that humans need huge amounts of, and it has the effect described in the article to block the absorption of iron.

This is a common conversation in Naturopathic circles, so it is helpful to see it in the mainstream discussion, which may help to protect those who may be inadvertently consuming too much.

Please see me in clinic to discuss further. www.revive your health.com.au

Parents urged to restrict cow's milk for toddlers Paediatricians across Australia are concerned about a jump in iron deficiency in young children due to too much cow's milk, and the need to better educate parents about the issue.

For every woman, as we will all approach menopause, and it helps if we understand all of our options clearly. I support menopausal symptoms, and have good success with natural medicine in this field. I also support the use of MHT if appropriate for the patient. Not everyone needs MHT, and it can be helpful to try natural support first, to clear symptoms, before embarking on MHT. Please see me in clinic to discuss further. www.reviveyourhealth.com.au

Everyone's heard something different about MHT (menopausal hormone therapy) and testosterone. Now you can go straight to the evidence.

We've launched a new suite of evidence-based menopause resources, developed as part of the Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) Alliance. Every resource has been developed through a rigorous assessment of the latest evidence and clinically reviewed by menopause experts.

The resources include step-by-step guides to applying MHT, information on MHT and breast cancer risk to support conversations with your doctor, and the latest evidence on testosterone – reviewed by leading researcher Professor Susan Davis AO.

Because when it comes to your health, you deserve the facts.
