I thoroughly enjoyed creating this intricate chiffon hair up for a lovely lady celebrating her 50th birthday.

A Hairdressers Empty Tissue Box.

Last week, five people sat in my salon chair,
None cried because of tangled hair.
Each carried a story, heavy and deep,
The kind of hurt that makes hearts weep.

One was a man with eyes so dim,
His mother no longer remembered him.
He quietly smiled, then said goodbye,
"I'm sorry," he whispered, though I knew not why.

The first dear lady had cancer to face,
You could see the heartbreak across her face.
She wiped her tears and stood to leave,
Apologising for the pain she couldn't conceal beneath.

Another had lost her faithful friend,
A beloved dog she'd loved to the end.
The grief was raw from the night before,
Yet she said, "I'm sorry," as she reached the door.

One wept for a daughter lost to drugs,
For broken dreams and unanswered hugs.
Again came the words, so softly said,
"Sorry to burden you," she bowed her head.

Another was weary, worn and tired,
Raising grandchildren she'd never desired.
She loved them dearly, that much was true,
But the weight she carried had finally broken through.

Time to go home she sat her scissors on her tray.
None of those clients need say sorry for their pain.
She too shed a tear and reached for a tissue to take.
But the box was empty.
It was a tissue box kind of day!

Arrived in London to 34 degrees, now enjoying the same weather in Sicily. Next stop, Malta on Friday and then to Spain.

I would like to express my gratitude. You are so much more than just clients to me, rather my friends and family after 10 years at Gidge Hair. Sunday marks my departure, so Europe, look out!

The salon will be reopening on Wednesday, 24th June.

I know I forget to capture before and after photos, however, this client presented with approximately 10 cm of dark regrowth, requiring a full head of foils for optimal results.

How did I get so lucky? You are all such beautiful thoughtful clients just by supporting me for the last ten years.
I feel blessed and spoilt today by a gorgeous client and friend for this lovely surprise
