Something I see in clinic all the time is asymmetry caused by piercings - especially the lip or eyebrow.

When a piercing goes through a muscle, it can damage or weaken it. This leads to reduced function of the muscle, and therefore asymmetry.

Often when I look at a severe asymmetry of the brow or lip, there is an old healed peircing on one side. Even when healed, the asymmetry persists.

Unfortunately this cannot usually be resolved with non-surgical aesthetic treatments.

We’re all asymmetrical anyway! Which is NORMAL! And it makes us, US.

BUT piercings can actually cause PERMANENT asymmetry.
