❤️ The Day I Realised My Beauty Was Never in a Relaxer 🥹

One day, I sat down and asked myself, “What if all the hair relaxer companies closed down tomorrow? Where would I go to find something to straighten my hair? How would I ever feel beautiful again?” 😂

That question really made me think!

I had depended on hair relaxers for so many years that I started believing my beauty was found in straight hair.

Without realising it, I was rejecting the natural beauty God had already given me. 🥹❤️

But through prayer, God began to change the way I saw myself. I became convinced that I didn’t need to change my natural hair texture to feel beautiful.

Why should my confidence depend on a product when my beauty and identity are already found in Christ? ❤️🙏

I decided to stop rejecting my natural hair and start learning how to love it, care for it and embrace it.

Today, I’m on a journey of rediscovering the natural beauty I neglected for so many years.

I no longer want my beauty to depend on a relaxer. I want to appreciate the woman God created me to be.

To every woman struggling to accept her natural hair, remember that your beauty was never manufactured in a relaxer factory. God gave you beauty long before those products existed! ❤️🙏

And for me, there’s no turning back. ❤️

I THOUGHT STRAIGHT HAIR WAS THE DEFINITION OF BEAUTY. 🥹❤️

Growing up as a Melanesian woman, I believed that relaxing my hair would make me more beautiful.

I thought beauty was found in straight, silky hair. I thought my natural hair was too thick, too difficult to manage, and simply not good enough.

Without realising it, I had allowed society’s beauty standards to convince me that the hair God gave me wasn’t beautiful enough. 💔

For years, I tried to change my natural hair instead of learning how to love and care for it.

But today, I’m breaking free from that belief! 🙌🏽

I’ve learned that my natural hair was never the problem. I simply needed to understand it, care for it, and appreciate it.

As a Melanesian woman, I am proud of my natural hair, my roots, and the beauty God gave me.

I am fearfully and wonderfully made! — Psalm 139:14 ❤️

This is why Root Revival means so much more to me than selling hair oil. It’s about encouraging other Melanesian women to rediscover the beauty of their natural hair.

I’m not here to judge women who choose to relax their hair. I’m here to remind every sister who feels her natural hair isn’t good enough that you were already beautiful before you tried to change it. 👑
