Living a low cortisol life, or at least trying to.

More rest. More time outside. Better boundaries. Moving your body because it feels good. Prioritising sleep. Making time for the people you love. Creating little pockets of calm in a busy week.

Stress is a normal part of life, and the goal is not to eliminate it completely. For me, it is about being more conscious of the habits and routines that support my overall wellbeing, both inside and outside the clinic.

Because looking after yourself does not always need to be complicated. Sometimes it is simply choosing a little more slow in a very busy world.

What can this actually achieve for me?

It is one of the most important questions you can bring into an aesthetic consultation.

Social media can make aesthetic medicine look incredibly straightforward, but there is a lot more happening behind every recommendation. Your anatomy is individual. Your starting point is individual. The way your body responds is individual too.

Sometimes the most appropriate recommendation may be different from what you originally had in mind. Sometimes it may mean taking a more gradual approach. And sometimes it may mean deciding not to proceed at all.

My role is not to promise a particular outcome. It is to give you clear information about the options available, potential risks and limitations, and help you make an informed decision based on your individual circumstances.

Realistic expectations are part of good aesthetic care.

There is always more to learn, and in aesthetic medicine, I believe there should be.

Ongoing education is a huge part of how I approach my role as a Registered Nurse. From anatomy and skin to patient suitability, clinical governance and the evolving research within aesthetic medicine, continuing to learn allows me to keep questioning, refining and developing the way I practise.

For me, professional development is not about collecting certificates. It is about bringing that knowledge back into the clinic and using it to support considered conversations, informed decision-making and individualised care.

I’ll always be a student of this industry, no matter how many years I spend in it. 🤍

The one product we want seeing a lot more of your face as the weather warms up.

The Skincare Company SPF50 Dry Touch is a lightweight, fragrance-free sunscreen formulated with broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. The dry-touch finish makes it an easy addition to a morning routine, particularly if you prefer an SPF that does not feel overly heavy on the skin.

And yes, SPF belongs in the routine beyond beach days and summer holidays.

Need help finding an SPF that suits your skin? Ask us at your next appointment.

Emily, off duty.

A little weekend recap before another week at Eternal Aesthetics.

Slow mornings, good coffee, a couple of well-earned sleep ins and some time away from clinic mode.

Now rested, reset and ready for another week of consultations, skin conversations and seeing all of you in clinic.

Sometimes the weekend agenda really does need to be this simple.

One of my favourite parts of aesthetics is anatomy.

Every face tells a different story. Looking beneath the surface at the muscles, fat pads, bone structure and blood vessels helps me understand how your face functions and how it has changed over time.

That understanding is what guides every consultation.

Your skin is constantly changing, which is why a treatment plan should never be a one size fits all approach.

A long term skin plan looks beyond today's concern and considers where your skin is heading. It allows us to make thoughtful decisions, introduce treatments at the right time and adjust your home care and in clinic plan as your skin, lifestyle and goals evolve.

The aim is not to do everything at once. It is to build a routine and treatment pathway that works together over time, creating a more considered and consistent approach to caring for your skin.

If you are not sure where to begin, a consultation is the best place to start.

We often think of skin as something that sits on the surface, but it's constantly responding to what's happening underneath.

Sleep, stress, nutrition, hormones, hydration and your daily habits all play a role in how your skin functions. The products you use and the treatments you choose matter too, but they work best as part of a bigger picture.

That's why consultations are never just about recommending a treatment. They're about understanding the factors that may be influencing your skin and building a plan that makes sense for you.

Knowing whether your skin leans oily, dry, combination or sensitive simply gives us a better starting point. It helps explain why some products feel amazing on someone else but leave your skin feeling irritated, congested or underwhelming.

The goal isn't to collect more skincare. It's to understand your skin well enough that every product has a purpose.

Not sure where your skin sits? Let's figure it out together during your consultation.
