To each and every one of you who have supported me. So many tears have been shed this week.

It was tough. I literally never saw this happening. “Hair by Courtney” brought me so many people whom became friends and family. Thank you from both Willow and I.

Thank you for sharing our space, Our lives, Our lows and our highs!…. Thank you for every moment of yours I got to be a part of. Births and deaths, marriages and divorces, birthdays, family moments, milestones, the whole package!

While I may not be able to hairdress, i still drink coffee by the boat load! 😉. I am around. In fact, while closing this door, another door opened! They say when life gives u lemons, make lemonade! So that’s what I shall do! I wish each of you the best!

Wow it has been a Moment!
I hope everyone is being safe with the water around….

For my Clients tomorrow. Mon 4/08.
I wanted to give u a heads up that school is cancelled for her tomorrow and she will be in salon with us. 🙂

While we do Live in the Evac zone, the only place we would evac to if we needed to is the salon anyway! So dnt stress! All appointments are on! If anyone needs to cancel, I understand! Dnt stress! We can move things around!

The most important thing is safety!

Salon closed for the week.

Hi everyone. I have messaged everyone booked in this week for their hair but I wanted to let everyone know that I won’t really be taking calls or responding to messages this week either.

Sadly Willow has gotten quite sick at the end of last week and she is still quite unwell.

You might still get confirmation messages, please ignore these. I will call each of you to reschedule when she is back on her feet. But I can’t move any appointments till I have a spot for each of you.

I know this affects each of you as well and I’m so greatful for your understanding.

Thank you! As another year finishes, I reflect on how lucky I am to be your hairdresser and friend!

Each of you bring me so much joy. Its a PLEASURE to go to “work” each day and even on the tough days, realise that I feel like I dnt have to work because each day is so beautiful and each of you bring so much love and joy to our space!

I LOVE my career because of the people I service. Your lives, your smiles, even being a part of your tough times, gives me purpose.

So THANK YOU!!!!

Today, 4 years ago, Hair by Courtney opened as a “rent-a-chair” inside another salon.

Now I operate at home alongside my amazing mums Business.

In 4 years a lot has happened, both personally and professionally, but I am still so proud to be working with each of you. To create a space that brings me joy to come to everyday and create amazing hair.

I want to take a moment to thank the amazing person/people who nominated me for this award.

I’m truely humbled and honestly so grateful for the love and support I receive from each of you.

Sadly, I will not be continuing in the nomination process. I feel business awards are for businesses that plan to grow and always strive to be better and help others to achieve that.

I can honestly say, I feel I do not fall into that category.
While I absolutely LOVE being a hairdresser, I see my business as a way to continue doing that while navigating family and personal time.🙂

I love being there for each of you. I love creating beautiful hair. I love our time, joy and memories. Sadly I am not made to enjoy some parts of being a business owner (BOOKWORK) and I procrastinate it terribly! Hahahaha

My goals when I developed my business was to create a sustainable, kind and loving environment. Somewhere that no matter how much life kicks you down, you have me. Somewhere budget friendly in todays economy. Somewhere that is a joy for me to spend my time, with the people I care for and do what I love doing most.

In every way, I have achieved that. I go to work and I am happy. I work with so many people that are not just clients but friends. I created a private and safe environment to voice every concern and not feel like it will be spoken about or overheard.… I feel that every day I matter as much to each of you, as you do to me. And every day, I know I’m happy. I honestly say I dnt work a day in my life since becoming a hairdresser because to me, it’s every part of me. It joins my love of science, health and friendliness into one amazing role.

I’m sorry I can’t accept this nomination. But I am so proud that you thought of me. So thank you

Did you know…. 💡

Grey hair…… plucking one won’t make two grow…. Grey hair is what happens when the melanocytes (pigment) in your cells naturally reduce. Some things can speed this up including stress, environmental factors, poor nutrition, smoking and hormones but the biggest factor is your DNA….

Physical damage to those cells even from as early as birth can also lead to premature grey/white hair in people as young as kids and teenagers.

No. I can’t change it. I can colour it. But once pigmentation in those cells starts to decrease, u are going to stay that way. sorry 😢

It’s made from majority Keratin (a protein) and is an excretion of your cells!

Your blood and nutrients feeds to the cells for its multiplication process and causes keratin to excrete, dehydrate, die and harden in a long linked process called the hair shaft….
