Hi 👋 everyone,
Attached is updated pricing moving forward
I will be reaching out to all clients that are booked in with updated pricing, if this doesn’t align with your budget moving forward, I completely understand.
If you have noticed I have adjusted my opening hours recently too. (No longer opening on a Friday) Starting mid July, I will be commencing some study, as I am looking to slow down & possibly eventually step away from behind the chair & put down the scissors! I know this might be a bit of a shock to some, but I am starting to listen to my body, and know that hairdressing is not going to be my forever job (even though I love it!)
After 20 years in the industry, almost 12 years in business & just over 3 years in my home studio, I am taking the leap to start making some changes.
I will be reducing my opening days again in the coming months to accommodate my new study/work/life balance. This will mean I won’t be able to fit all of my regulars in, & the days I work/don’t work may not suit you. Unfortunately this comes with change. You will still find me behind the chair 3 days a week from mid July, but this may reduce once I begin doing placement hours needed for the course I will be studying.
Any questions don’t hesitate to reach out!
Thankyou ❤️💇🏼♀️🤓

Warning**pregnancy loss/ectopic pregnancy
Long post ahead
I seriously have debated sharing my experience on social media, but as I lay here at 1:30am, 24 hours after my life drastically changed, I’ve decided that I refuse my son to grow up in a world where women suffer in silence and that this subject is not taboo, and should be spoken about.
I Will take you back to what I thought was going to be a cute story to tell in the near future of how we found out we were expecting baby number 2. I was laying in bed with my almost 2.5 year old son last Wednesday when he started touching my stomach saying “baby, baby”. Mind you, he has never done this before and has only just starting to say a lot of new words/phrases. I looked up at my husband and said, “are you hearing this?!”. I laughed and went along with it, “what would you like a baby brother or a baby sister?”, “baby sister.” He said. “Are you sure you don’t want a little baby brother?” He *shook* his head.
The next morning I thought I might just do a pregnancy test, because as some of you may know, I had the IUD (Mirena) surgically removed just before Christmas, and me and hubby were just “going with the flow”, “whatever will be will be”, and I also have an irregular cycle. I forgot the next morning, and I ended up doing it on Friday morning. I left it on the bathroom counter back in its packaging and went outside to do my son’s new favourite thing, playing with his tractors and cars in the dirt. We went back inside and I realised I had forgot to check the pregnancy test, I really thought it would be one line, negative. Gee did I get a shock when I saw that dark pink second line, definitely positive, couldn’t mistake it. My mind was racing I opened the door to my hubby who was having a sleep in, “Adrian, my test is positive!”. I think he was in just as much shock as I was. My mind began racing, have we done the right thing, how will my son react to not being the centre of our worlds, will we cope, what if it’s twins? I imagined what our life would look like this Christmas. I went to the doctors, where they congratulated me after another quick positive urine test. Had a blood test and booked my dating ultrasound scan. Then Monday night, and into early Tuesday morning I had a hot stabbing pain on my right side. I tried to go back to sleep but it got worse and I ended up waking my hubby and my son, which I didn’t want to do. Hubby was meant to be going to work, I was meant to be taking my son to his swimming lesson which we have missed due to sickness the last fortnight, and was also catching up with my parents for my Dads birthday.
The gympie hospital staff are beyond lovely, caring and amazing. From the ED, to short stay, to scan staff & wardsman, to surgery & recovery. Even when I found out it could be a suspected ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy found outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes, where it is not viable and can be dangerous, especially when it ruptures) I had hope, I really did try to keep positive and hope for the best outcome.
Then my world came crashing down, our world did. I saw the pain on my husband’s face, and it really made me love him even more that he does indeed take our marriage vows seriously, in sickness and in health.
Next is emergency surgery as it has unfortunately ruptured. What about my clients, I have already taken so much time off with sickness, especially this year, why me, why us?
All our hopes and dreams for this new baby gone, my heart just broke, I didn’t realised how attatched to this new idea of what our family would look like. Also they are going to take my fallopian tube out with the unviable, ruptured pregnancy.
Surgery done, thankyou for reading this far, now for me to heal, physically & emotionally. Women should never have to carry this burden alone, or suffer in silence.
