Well… this wasn’t on my bingo card for the week 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Apparently hand, foot & mouth isn’t just for kids — who knew?! 🙃
Or maybe I actually am still a child and not just young at heart 🤪

After a trip to the doctor today, I’ve officially been diagnosed and have been told I’m not allowed to work for the rest of the week.

So unfortunately Georgie’s for Hair is temporarily closed while I keep my germs and spots to myself 😂

If you have an appointment booked this week, I’ll be in touch to reschedule you. I’m so sorry for the muck around and really appreciate everyone’s understanding ❤️

Before & After ✨

Today we transformed this bright blonde into a soft, dimensional brunette with seamless blending, plenty of shine and beautiful movement.

The result is lower maintenance, glossy and effortlessly natural.

When I first brought this old cabinet inside, plenty of people (Damian and my mum) probably would have seen a piece of junk and thought I had finally gone mad…

I saw something else. Something special. 🤍

After a bit of sanding, a lot of painting, new screws, warm lighting, a few hours and more curse words than I’d like to admit, it’s finally finished.

Now the colour cupboard is open for business and home to every colour, toner and product I use in the salon, and I honestly smile every time I walk past.

I love giving old things a new life, and I think it fits Georgie’s for Hair perfectly and has another 100 years of life left in it.

SLIME IN THE HAIR?! 😱🫣

No prizes for guessing which one of my children was responsible for today’s little salon emergency… 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

As a hairdresser and a mum, I think slime is one of the worst inventions on the planet!

I absolutely hate the feel of it—it gives me the heebie-jeebies! So trust me when I say spending half an hour picking slime out of hair isn’t my idea of a good time either. 😅

But… taking the time to do it properly is almost always worth it.

❌ Don’t panic.
❌ Don’t reach for the scissors.
❌ Don’t shampoo it straight away.
❌Don’t add water!!! It makes it slimier

Instead:
✅ Pick out as much slime as you can with your fingers or a tail comb.
✅ Saturate the hair with a thick conditioner.
✅ Pop on a shower cap or wrap it in cling wrap and leave it for 20–30 minutes.
✅ Gently comb from the ends upwards, adding more conditioner whenever the hair starts to drag.
✅ Once the slime is completely gone, only then shampoo the hair and shampoo twice.

A little patience can save a lot of tears… and a lot of hair. 💜

Anyone who knows my kids will know exactly which one this was before even looking at the photos! 😂🙈

Please never worry that I’ll be upset or annoyed if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment because you’re unwell.

I would always rather see you when you’re feeling 100% than have you come in while you’re sick. Not only is it better for your recovery, but it also helps keep me healthy so I can continue looking after all of my wonderful clients.

If I get sick, it often means I have to cancel multiple appointments, which impacts so many people.

So if you’re feeling under the weather, please stay home, rest up, and send me a message. We’ll find another time to get your hair looking fabulous once you’re feeling better. 💛

Safe to say there were three very excited kids heading off to school this morning! 🥰

🌳 Help George & Heathcote Primary School sell some trees! 🌱

Our school is running a Tree Drive for 2026, and it’s a great way to grab some quality plants while supporting the kids 🙌

💰 $5 from every tree sold goes straight back to the school for literacy resources (every tree = a new book 📚)

There’s a really good mix available:
🍊 Citrus & fruit trees
🌸 Ornamental trees (Japanese maples, crepe myrtles, jacaranda etc.)
🌱 Dwarf options (great for smaller yards or pots)
