Nancy has hooded eyes with an epicanthic fold, so I mapped her eyeliner while her eyes were open. This allowed me to see exactly where the liner would sit once her eyes were relaxed, not just how it looked while her eyelid was closed.

The secret isn’t making the eyeliner thicker. It’s understanding your unique eye shape and placing the liner where it won’t disappear into the fold or transfer throughout the day. I love making my life easier by using products that will help me create the perfect winged liner.

POV: I see a tiny strip of tape... she sees a whole new level of confidence

This is one of the most requested techniques inside my online makeup course and one that completely changed the way I approach hooded and monolid eyes.

To most people, eyelid tape just looks like a small piece of adhesive.

But to someone who has spent their entire life wishing they had more eyelid space, a visible crease, or eyes that appear larger and more open... it can be so much more than that.

Eyelid Taping Demonstration for Hooded Asian Eyes with an Epicanthic Fold 👀

If you ever wanted to get eyelid surgery to create an eyelid crease because you have monolid or hooded eyes then this reels is for you.

Eyelid taping is an alternative to getting the surgery. It is less invasive and can be applied daily to create more eyelid space so that you don’t get eyeliner transfer. If you have ever experienced panda eyes like I have all my life this could be a great makeup technique to do on yourself.

This is not to discourage you from getting the eyelid surgery if that’s what you have been thinking about. You do you girl so if that makes you happy I’m not here to stop you. I’m merely here to educate on the technique and show what is possible with makeup💄

You do not always need to remove your makeup and start again.

In this tutorial, I’m showing you exactly where I place the tape using my Meta glasses POV, because placement is everything.

Place it too high and it can feel uncomfortable or look unnatural.
Place it too low and it may not support the fold.
But when it’s mapped correctly for your individual eye shape, it can:

✨ Help balance uneven eyelids
✨ Reveal eyeliner hidden beneath the fold
✨ Reduce makeup transfer
✨ Help the eye makeup look more open

Eyelid taping isn’t about changing your Asian features. It’s a temporary makeup technique that helps you work with the eyes you already have.

Every hooded eye and epicanthic fold is different, so use this tutorial as a guide and adjust the placement to suit your own eyes.
