Is there a big difference between foundation finishes? I filmed a video today showing/comparing the 6 L’Oreal foundation products. I did side by side matchups -true match foundation vs serum tint, 32 hr fresh wear infallible vs skint ink and cushion vs balm. I used same primer (Glotion) and then same products over the top. Honestly, looking at them all I can’t really tell much of a difference in how the final looks ended up. Thoughts? (Also, please don’t ask me to name what I’m wearing in each image as I haven’t sat down and worked it out yet. Don’t worry o do have photos holding products to refer to). Honestly I think it comes down to your skin type more than anything with these.

Started testing this at home laser hair removal today from I’m treating the right side of my body only so that I can give a true reflection of its efficacy. Leg, under arm and those darn coarse goat hairs on my chin. Very excited to share results with you in the future. Thanks to for sending this to me.

I tried a few super Savey products today. new Silky Blur Foundation ($12) and concealer ($5.50), Blush Twist cream and powder combo - no more fights ($9.99), the Simpson’s highlighter -light(I think it was around $20). Seeing how they wear now but loving how they all look. I’ve been wearing the highlighter all week. The cream blush is very pigmented and I’m loving the finish on the essence products. On the left is natural light and on the right is studio light.

Hopefully this doesn’t take too long to get here so I can create some looks for you and compare to see what is similar and if you need it. I’ll be filming for YouTube the day I get it.

It’s been a little while but I’m back into it.

I'm an over-50s beauty writer. Here's the one mistake people my age make with foundation. It doesn't involve less coverage.

So this week I have been road testing these two products. The conceal and perfect blur out skin tint stick and the Hy-Glam setting powder. YouTube videos up early next week (I haven’t filmed yet). Firstly the Milani is creamy and buildable up to a really good coverage and it is definitely blurring. It’s soft matte and creamy. I feel like this could be suitable for most skin types. Next the much hyped Natasha Denona “waterproof” powder. Now o haven’t gone to the extremes of pouring water over my face but I did get stuck in the rain 3 times yesterday. I did use setting spray over the top and I look to soak it in. It didn’t absorb and it took a lot longer to dry down but it did remove any cakiness and made it look better on the skin. Image two is it after a 14 hours day, no touch ups after Hobarts rain yesterday. The third image is of it freshly applied. These are both beautiful products at the opposite end of the makeup pricing spectrum.

It’s been so long since I have done any underpainting that I forgot how amazing it makes your skin look. Was inspired by today to film this look for the over 50s of us. I’ll be back into this for any event looks. Left is studio light, right is natural window light.
