We thought it’d be nice to share her bio so you know who might be looking after you locks and giving you that incredible head massage at the basin Eye Am Hair

So what has brought you into hairdressing & how long have you been doing it?

I have been cutting my twin brothers and my own hair since I was a toddler, (this didn’t always end well) 15 years later and im still his hairdresser. After considering entering the hairdressing industry for a few years I found eye am hair and fell in love with the salon, and am overjoyed to join this incredible team. Growing up with a head full of curls I understand the struggle of embraceing and learning to style and care for them. My goal is to be able to help others love their natural hair.

The creativity of it

What services are your strengths or specialties?

Just at the beginning of my career in the industry I am learning the basics, and will be welcoming guest into the salon and insuring they a comfortable.

What hair types or clients do you love working with most, or what are your favorite looks at the moment? (think about what haircuts your love to do the most)

I love curls, and colour. I love natural 70s inspired looks, and layers. I look forward to learning how to cut curls, and styling Big blow outs and bangs.

How would you describe your approach or style when providing service?

Creative and fun

What do you want your clients to feel when they leave your chair?

I want my clients to leave feeling confident, and refreshed.

What kind of energy do you bring to the salon?

Calm and walm

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I feel inspired by historic and retro looks, from movies and editorial shoots.

What do you love outside of the salon?


I spend hours of my spare time wandering through opshops and tip shops hunting for treasures, I love travelling, nature walks, camping, and doing arts and crafty things. I love listening to music, and reading and going out with my friends.

Growing up, I learnt that hair was something to control. To smooth. To tame. To make “neater”, softer, straighter, more acceptable.

It has taken me years in this industry to understand how powerful it is to unlearn that.

Jerusalem’s hair, photographed here in its natural state, feels like a quiet rebellion against perfection. No forcing the curl into uniformity. No trying to remove every piece of frizz. No asking the hair to become something else before we call it beautiful.

There is something earthy and incredibly human about letting texture exist exactly as it grows. The softness, the expansion, the irregularity, the movement, the cloud of it.

Afro and textured hair does not need to be perfected to be worn proudly.

Sometimes the most beautiful thing we can do is stop correcting what was never wrong in the first place.

A big warm welcome to Kayleigh our new salon assistant!

There’s not much this gal can’t do tbh. She’s worked in hospitality, festivals and is almost finished a carpentry course which seems to be a bit like hairdressing, just working on different mediums.

Kayleigh has a big love for self-expression through hair and fashion, which inspired her to begin her journey in the hair industry.

She loves creating a smooth, fun and warm experience for every client who visits the salon. Whether she’s welcoming you at reception, assisting our stylists or ensuring your appointment runs seamlessly, Kayleigh is passionate about making every client feel comfortable and cared for from start to finish.

With a kind, easy-going, mindful and playful personality, Kayleigh brings a warm, calming energy to the salon. She feels inspired to help people feel comfortable and empowered to embrace their individuality.

For Kayleigh, the best part of the job is seeing clients leave feeling confident, relaxed and truly seen.

When she’s not in the salon, you’ll usually find her spending time in nature, creating, travelling or listening to live music.

So many people have followed their curiosity and wondered through our yellow doors guarded by golden mermaids and found themselves enchanted by our colourful space, not knowing it’s even a hair salon?

At first glance some think art gallery, Apothecary, or even a bar! The great thing is we are all of those things and also a hair salon specialising in curly and textured hair.

We may not be able to get you in on the spot but we can certainly answer any questions you have and guide you in the right direction for your Haircare needs.
