Legends Sydney

Born and raised in Los Angeles Bruce the barber has been cutting hair for more than 20years, although a pioneer in his trade of barbering his first passion is Music. Bruce began singing amongst a array of musicians in Los Angeles, Cultured and recognized by Greg Poree, this was his first avenue into the music scene. After being signed to Columbia Sony at 20years of age with a Jazz Band (now members of Ozo Matli) - af Columbia Sony - Randy Jackson his A&R (American Idol) Bruce moved on as a independent artist. Throughout the years Bruce had toured and sang amongst some of musics best, After venturing down the independent music artist track, Bruce then joined a band called 'Benatural', Bruce singing lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Bruce has also held a place on the RnB Billboard Charts in the US for his hit single 'You Brighten up my Day'. Bone Thugs and Harmony, DJ U-Neek was his next project, this has so far been continuous with DJ U-Neek producing Bruce's past 5 Albums. Currently Bruce is signed to a music deal by 7Arts entertainment (DMX and Nate Dogg). You can catch Bruce singing a few tunes whilst cutting hair, unexpected and enjoyable for the customers. Bruce decided to make the move down under in seek for a change, A year later Legends Sydney has been opened. Why Legends Sydney? When Bruce originally moved from LA he was stuck on finding a 'barbershop' that ticked all the boxes of what he was use to. After traveling around Sydney He saw a gap in the market for a barbershop that had experienced barbers that could deal with different hair types and styles. Sure there were many, many barbershops - but in Bruce's mind they lacked the neighborhood barbershop feel that he was accustomed to in Los Angeles. Bruce decided to bring his skills to the forefront and help the public develop their understanding and appreciation of a 'Barber'. Hence Legends Sydney was opened, why not expand a family brand into a country where the skill of barbering is still a developing culture. A few years into opening Legends Sydney - To help teach others the American Barbering methodology - Bruce began teaching Barbering at Ultimo TAFE. All the barbers whom cut at Legends are trained by Bruce and have attained their Barbering Certificates through TAFE NSW. Legends Sydney is not your average 'barbershop'. Firstly the barber chairs face away from the mirror which initially can confuse you? However this is the American Way, and Bruce tells us that 'its actually easier to grab the tools and the mirror is for the Barber to guide the haircut. It's a different philosophy however much worth it. Legends Sydney is not a 'niche' barbershop - Legends Sydney accepts all hair shapes, styles, and ages. When you sit in a Legends chair, it will not be a rushed job. This is a barbershop where your average haircut may take that little extra time but be rest assured your haircut is an 'art form' not 'just a cut'. Legends is open 7days a week.
