So it’s a Sunday morning and I’m sitting here thinking I really don’t post enough of my work and I should (and be proud of it as IG is, in a way, a portfolio) I’m so bad with social media as I really struggle with not being in the present moment. How many likes I have really doesn’t matter to me, to be honest, the more people that are watching makes me kind of anxious at times (I am human) but yesterday I received these incredible photos of my bride Brittany and this morning I wanted to share with you a little bit about my life.
It still shocks me that my job is to get somebody ready for one of the most incredible moments in their lifetime. They pay me, to make them feel more beautiful on their day and I get to witness some of the most raw moments with a mum and dad and their baby girl before she gives her hand to another man.
I didn’t get to have this moment as my dad suddenly passed away with cancer so I organised an engagement party and my partner and i surprised everyone on the night and got married. My grandparents weren’t there also (they are up there with dad) so I think sharing this moment with other humans and realising how important family is and how so much love surrounds one another is such an incredible thing to witness.
The look on Britt’s dad’s face when he walked in that room and saw his baby girl standing there in that divine dress just made my heart melt. She’s now a lady and not that little girl anymore. He cried, Britt cried, we all did.
The look on her mums face all morning as we got ready, she was so proud.
Then I stood back as pop had his moment and when he was told to open his eyes.. it was just so magical. Family.
Appreciate every moment in life. Keep your feet on the ground (still dream big) but cuddle your family members more. Show them how much you love them.
Thank you to not only Brittany and her family but all the Brides I have spent the morning with over the years.
