A great 2 days late last week at Greenvale with graziers from the local area. The Greenvale Grazing Connect workshop was delivered by Tropical Agricultural Services (TAS), Pinnacle Pocketing Consulting, Queensland DPI and Tropical Vets. Topics covered animal health, beef genetics, soil health, beef economics, pasture species, pasture cover and nutrition. Great discussion between graziers and technical staff on ways to advance tropical grazing systems. A special thanks to the DPI Peer to Peer program for funding this event.

Graziers from across North Queensland attended the PayDirt workshop supported by MLA and DAF, in Ingham over the weekend. The workshop was delivered by Tropical Agricultural Services (TAS) and Pinnacle Pocketing Consulting. Graziers gained a better understanding of soil health, pasture nutrition, pasture cover and management of the soil resource. The group will come back together in a month’s time to kick the dirt to further investigate ways to better manage their grazing businesses. Healthy soil = healthy pastures = healthy cattle = better live weight gains = better returns to the grazier.

Soil and Plant Health = Tonnes of Sugar.
Herbert cane farmers turn out in big numbers to the joint Tropical Agricultural Services (TAS) and Metagen shed meeting on Thursday night. Metagen’s Shane Fitzgerald gave an update on the latest research findings, SRA’s Dr Seona Casonata spoke on bio fumigation and the fallow, while TAS’s Lawrence Di Bella spoke on managing crop production during a time of low sugar and high fuel prices. The meeting equipped growers with strategies to better manage their farms. Thanks to all, for your ongoing support of our business.
