You sit down for your assessment. The practitioner starts explaining a plan. You nod. You agree. You leave with a program you don't fully understand.
There's one question worth asking:
"Can you show me exactly what is separated?"
It sounds simple, and it shifts the whole conversation.
A "mummy tummy" is rarely just one thing. It can be abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti, where the muscles down the midline have pulled apart). It can be loose skin. It can be a change in how your core actually functions. Or a combination of all three.
That matters because two women can walk in with the same-looking tummy and need two completely different plans. Same outside. Different structure underneath.
If you don't know which one is yours, you can't know if your plan is built for your body.
So ask to see it. Ask what's separated, what's skin, and what's core function. Ask how each part is being addressed.
At The Elite Hub, this is where every plan starts. We don't guess. We test. Then we explain exactly what we find, so you leave understanding your own body, not just holding a program.
You deserve to know what's happening inside, not just what treatment you're receiving.
What's the one thing you wish someone had explained at your first assessment?

Two mums. Same weight. Same dress size. One has diastasis recti. One doesn't.
A number on the scales will never tell you which one you are. 🌸
That's the diagnostic gap so many women get stuck in. You're eating well, moving your body, doing everything the generic advice suggests, and still the shape of your stomach isn't changing. It isn't a willpower problem. It's a measurement problem.
A real post-pregnancy assessment looks at what the scales can't see:
→ Whether your abdominal muscles have separated along the midline
→ How your deep core behaves under real load, not just at rest
→ Tissue quality, because loose skin and stretched connective tissue respond very differently to treatment than fat does
Swipe through for the 3 things a specialist assessment actually checks, and why a clear picture of what's happening inside your body is worth more than months of guessing on the bathroom scales.

Two years of Pilates. A physio-approved ab program. A personal trainer who specialised in postnatal fitness.
Her midline still domed every time she sat up from bed.
She isn't alone. Women arrive at our clinic every week having done everything right, only to find their separation hasn't closed. In many cases, the exercises they've been repeating for months were quietly loading the gap rather than restoring it.
Standard core work, including crunches, sit-ups and many Pilates moves, can push pressure straight through a separated midline. If the deep abdominal muscles haven't relearned how to co-activate as a team, adding load reinforces the very pattern you're trying to fix. Width of the separation, tissue quality, and how the core responds under load all matter, and none of that is visible from the outside.
This is why a real assessment comes first. Not weight. Not BMI. Not another generic ab program. We check whether separation is present, how wide it is, how the tissue behaves under load, and whether your core is firing as a coordinated unit — then we build a plan from there.
Effort was never your problem. Direction was. 🌸

Eight months of ab workouts. Barely any change.
The reason wasn't effort. It was anatomy. Your core isn't one muscle. It's four working together: the diaphragm, abdominals, deep spinal muscles, and pelvic floor. Pregnancy affects all of them, but most workouts only train one.
That's why crunches and planks so often fall flat after baby. And why the dull lower back ache so many mums brush off as "just being a mum" is often the deeper support muscles quietly waving a white flag.
There's also a timing piece nobody mentions. Natural healing after birth tends to plateau around the 12-month mark, so more time on its own rarely fixes what's structurally changed.
Swipe through for the 3 things this mum wished she'd known sooner. 🌸
When you understand what actually shifted inside your body, you stop blaming yourself for not trying hard enough.

You've lost the baby weight. You're back at the gym. Your stomach still won't budge.
When effort isn't the missing piece, sequence is. Most mums are doing the right things in the wrong order, which is why the results never quite stick.
Our Mummy Tummy Rescue Plan follows three stages, and the order is what makes it work:
🌸 Step 1: A real assessment to identify what's actually going on, whether that's abdominal separation (the muscles down the midline that stretched apart during pregnancy), loose skin, core dysfunction, or a combination.
🌸 Step 2: A personalised treatment plan combining advanced body contouring, muscle activation therapy, and skin tightening, matched to your body and your stage of recovery.
🌸 Step 3: Home exercise and lifestyle guidance to lock in your progress between sessions. This is the step most women skip when they go it alone, and it's why generic programs rarely last.
Swipe through to see what each stage looks like, and why addressing the real cause in the right order finally gives your body a reason to change.

Eating clean. Pilates three times a week. And still pinching the same belly fold every morning.
For a long time, one of the mums we work with was convinced it was a fat problem. More cardio. Stricter meals. Harder workouts. Nothing shifted, because the real issue wasn't on her plate. It was structural. Abdominal separation and a core that wasn't functioning the way it needed to.
The day she stopped treating it as a fat problem was the day things finally started to change. 🌸
Swipe through for the three daily habits she reworked once she understood what was actually happening in her body. Small, evidence-based shifts, exactly the kind of home support we build into the Mummy Tummy Rescue Plan.
Because when the cause is structural, the answer isn't working harder. It's working smarter, with the right information.

She came to us years after her last pregnancy, her kids already grown, frustrated by stubborn fat around her middle that wouldn't shift.
Eating well. Moving her body. Staying consistent. And still feeling like her tummy looked pregnant every time she put on fitted clothes.
Here's what she'd never been told.
On assessment, the picture was clear. This wasn't a willpower problem, and it wasn't really about the fat. It was structural.
We found diastasis recti, a separation of the abdominal muscles along the midline where the connective tissue has stretched and stayed stretched. Alongside it, loose skin that no longer sat firmly against the muscle, and reduced core function through the four-part support system: the diaphragm, abdominals, deep spinal muscles, and pelvic floor.
Once natural healing plateaus, usually around twelve months postpartum, diet and exercise alone can't draw those structures back into place. You can't out-train a structural change.
So we skipped the ab workouts.
Instead, we built her a personalised, non-invasive plan focused on how her core works, not just how her stomach looks. We rebuilt the deep muscles, addressed the separation directly, and firmed the tissue, without surgery and without downtime.
Progress was gradual and evidence-based. As the before and after shows, the visible change followed the internal one. Her core felt supported again. Her stability returned. And her shape started to reflect the foundation we'd rebuilt underneath.
This is our philosophy in one line: We don't guess. We test.
We look at what's actually happening in the tissue first, then build the plan around it. 🌸

At 6 weeks postpartum, your GP said you were cleared.
At 6 months, everyone said give it time.
At 12 months, you're still waiting, and wondering why nothing is changing.
Here's what most mums are never told about the 12-month mark. 👇
1. Natural healing has a plateau.
Physiological healing after pregnancy typically plateaus around the 12-month mark. After that, your body is no longer actively repairing the stretched connective tissue and muscle separation on its own. That's why so many mums notice nothing changes past the first year, no matter how consistent they are with exercise or eating well.
2. Connective tissue doesn't train like muscle.
The linea alba (the connective tissue running down the centre of your abdomen) doesn't strengthen through regular exercise the way muscle does. Crunches, planks, and core classes can actually increase pressure on a separation rather than close it, which is why working harder sometimes makes the visible bulge worse.
3. It's rarely one single issue.
For most women, a mummy tummy is a combination of three separate things:
• Abdominal muscle separation
• Loose or stretched skin
• Reduced core function
Each responds to a different approach, which is why one solution (more exercise, more dieting) rarely fixes all three.
At The Elite Hub, we start by identifying which of these three your body is actually experiencing, then build a plan around that. Knowing what you're dealing with changes everything.
If you're past the 12-month mark and still waiting for something to shift, this is where you start.

She runs four times a week. She eats clean. And her stomach still looks six months pregnant.
This isn't a willpower problem. It's a sequence problem, and it starts with understanding what you're actually dealing with. 🌸
Mummy tummy is rarely leftover fat. For most mums, it's a structural mix of abdominal muscle separation, stretched connective tissue, loose skin, and a core system that no longer works the way it used to. Treating fat when the real issue is structural is why nothing changes.
Pregnancy also stretches the whole core: the abdominals at the front, deep spinal muscles at the back, the diaphragm above, and the pelvic floor below. That's why back discomfort, feeling unstable when lifting your toddler, or a persistent bulge often show up together.
And here's what most mums are never told: natural healing typically plateaus around 12 months postpartum. If your body hasn't shifted after that despite consistent effort, it isn't going to on its own.
Swipe through the 3 steps. When you know what you're dealing with, you stop blaming yourself and start finding the right path forward.

She'd done everything right.
The weight was gone. She ate well, she moved her body, she stayed consistent for years.
But the loose skin and the stubborn fat around her middle stayed exactly where they were.
At 41, after pregnancy, she came in feeling like her body had simply stopped responding. Like her effort no longer counted for anything.
Here's what we found, and what so many women never get told.
After pregnancy, this often has little to do with willpower or diet. It comes down to structure.
When the abdominal muscles separate (a condition called diastasis recti), the connective tissue between them stretches and stays stretched. The tiny fibres that anchor your skin to the muscle underneath loosen too. So even after the weight comes off, the tummy can still feel soft, look loose, and hold onto fat that won't shift.
You can't out-exercise a structural change. That says nothing about how hard you've worked. It's a mechanism that needs a different approach.
That's exactly where we started with her.
We skipped the workout plan. Instead, we built a personalised, non-invasive plan to restore how her core works, firm the tissue, and reshape the area diet alone had stopped touching.
Real results followed. Her core felt supported again. Her shape changed. And for the first time in years, her body was responding.
This is our philosophy in one line: We don't guess. We test.
We look at what's actually happening in the tissue first, then build the plan around it.
If you've done everything right and your body still isn't changing, the answer may not be trying harder. It may be understanding what's going on underneath.
