A traditional HeadSpa is a multi-step treatment designed to support both scalp and hair health. It blends deep cleansing, targeted massage techniques, and nourishing treatments to encourage relaxation, improve circulation, and promote healthy hair growth. The experience typically includes a soothing scalp massage, deep-cleansing shampoo, restorative masks or serums, gentle steaming, and aromatherapy—working together to exfoliate the scalp and create a holistic sense of wellbeing.

🏡The Hauora Whānui HeadSpa Experience

Our Hauora Whānui HeadSpa weaves together western practices with Māori rongoā traditions to create an authentic healing experience that restores balance to tinana (body), wairua (spirit), and hinengaro (mind). Each session is tailored to your needs and may include whitiwhiti kōrero (conversation) mirimiri (massage) puoro (music) and the use of herbal plants with medicinal properties.
The healing waters of our waipaheko (herbal pool) are infused with kawakawa, koromiko, and kānuka, each carrying their own gifts of wellbeing:

🪴Kawakawa — A treasured plant of Tāne Mahuta, known for its powerful healing properties. Traditionally used to relax tight muscles, soothe dental pain, and reduce inflammation.

🪴Koromiko — Used to support digestive health, especially for dysentery, diarrhoea, and stomach discomfort. Its leaves also make an effective topical wash for easing bruising, chafing, inflammation, and general soreness.

🪴Kānuka — Naturally antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory. Used by Māori for pain relief, reducing inflammation, and supporting skin healing.
