New to the SJ Farmers Market this Saturday, 19th, is *Persimmon Soap*.
Why persimmon? Persimmon is used in some soaps for managing body odour.
Doing a deep dive into the reason behind combating body odour it appears that the tannin from the unripe persimmon is responsible. Beautiful ripe persimmon puree from Blue Rock Farm fill these soaps along with creamy buttermilk from Devoted Artisan Butter.
As it is the tannin from the unripe fruit I managed to find a Japanese company from where I obtained 100% pure tannin powder and incorporated this also into the soap.
I am in no way making any medical claims with this soap but giving a little info on these ingredients as per 'Google says...'.
Does it work? I have no idea but it is still a gorgeous soap even though it did end up looking like a beautiful dark chocolate brownie lol.

Last minute shopping for Father's Day gifts this Saturday, 5th Sept, at SJ Farmers Market.

It may be a tad wet but don't let that deter you as we will be there to help you with something unique and locally made just for Dad.

From mechanics/gardeners/hard working hands soap to shaving soap or beard wax to the ole fashioned soap-on-the-rope made with either beer, bourbon, red wine or whiskey. There's something for all the boyzzzzz.

Making it's debut at the SJ Farmers Market this Saturday, 29th, is this beautifully scented Spearmint soap. A request from a lovely young customer at the market who absolutely loves mint. You ask, I'll do my best to deliver.

And...........only 1 week to Father's Day!!
Make a customized hamper especially for the father figure or man you celebrate the day with/for. Stocks are limited.

Start your Father's Day shopping this Saturday, 15th, at SJ Farmers Market.

Mix and match from my men's range to create a hamper for the man you celebrate Father's Day for.

And, because not all dads are men...... we can put together a hamper for the amazing women who do the job of Dad too.

If you can't make it this Saturday, I will also be at the SJ Farmers Market on 29th Aug and also 5th Sept (day before Father's Day).

Some of the products on offer are soap on the rope made with four different alcohols - beer, bourbon, whiskey and red wine, mechanic/gardeners soap, shaving mug with or without brush, beard wax and just for something different a limited supply of fudge and flavoured peanuts.

After a couple of requests and then trial and error with my designated guinea pigs I will have these bad boys at the market soon.
Aimed at mechanics, gardeners and anyone that needs that little extra something to help with cleaning their hands.

Coming tomorrow to SJ Farmers Market is my shaving soap for girls as well as the guys. Completely different formula to my usual cold process soap but soooo thick and creamy.

They're back!! The very popular Organic Sea Moss will be back at SJ Farmers Market this Saturday. Sea Moss is a powerhouse rich in vitamins and minerals. Google will tell you it's great for deep hydration, reducing fine lines and calms sensitive skin which is wonderful but to me it is such a beautiful soap with a gorgeous creamy lather. Scented like a day at the ocean.

Update on the alpaca felting - nope, I admit defeat 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️. The fleece fought me on all fronts and when it played nicely I wasn't happy with the results so what does a girl do.........
I went back to merino wool as I had soaps ready to felt and knew merino wool wouldn't let me down.
These merino felted soaps and others will be available at SJ Farmers Market this Saturday morning, 6th June.
