My name is Jules Berry and I am a stay at home Mum of two teenagers with a wonderfully
supportive husband, based in Kyabram Victoria.
I was born with Cerebral palsy, and it was always hard to keep a job because employers mostly saw the way I walked and refused to hire me. because of lack of skills it became increasingly difficult to find a job.... even after I had gone through quite a few surgeries to “fix” things with bone rotations and muscle lengthenings. I can’t quite remember exactly how many there have been... I just remember there’s been a lot!
In 2001 I was down from Melbourne visiting a friend for her 21st. We went out for drinks and that’s where I met the wonderful man who is now my husband. In 2002 we eloped (much to the shock/surprise to our family and friends.......... sorry Mel, I can still hear your exclamation of surprise to this day). In March 2003 we had our beautiful daughter and in November 2004 we had welcomed our beautiful son in to our family. Due to some complications and a lot of stress we decided that was it for our little family as we weren’t sure my body could cope with anything more. We moved a lot, which was nothing new for me being bought up as a kid in a strict family with a father in the Army.
Fast forward to 2016. We were discussing finally buying a house. My husband - ever the hard worker, changed jobs... Our lives changed. There was a car accident. He was on his way to work when it happened. The other driver in the oncoming vehicle drifted in to the lane hubby was in and side swiped the car at 100ks an hr...... was one of the WORST few days and years of our lives. Thankfully (and obviously) he’s still with us today... But it is never forgotten. But it does make you believe in miracles. There was 18 months of recuperation and doctors and various other appointments...
That was when I decided to try making custom Hampers and handmade soy candles from home (former owner of KD Hampers and Gifts). I loved the opportunity to create what people wanted. And I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the lovely people I did through doing it all. However, again our circumstances changed.... and I had to say goodbye to what I was doing and close everything up. I became slightly anxious ridden, it was hard to breathe whenever I went anywhere... the chest tightened up and all I’d want to do is go home.
I joined the Body Shop at Home Organisation in October 2018, I had met a lovely lady through when she was throwing an online party for another friend... We talked on Facebook every now and then and one day she asked me to sign up as a part of her team. You want to know something? It’s been a fantastic ride so far! I've only been a part of the wonderful organisation for a short time, but it has already changed my life, Ive met so many wonderful ladies within the organisation already and have made some beautiful new friends through parties and just talking about the products I’ve used.
I love the fact that I can use these products and share everything with my customers because I know they work! The BEST part of what I do?
Getting paid to give people FREE products.
Yes, I still get a little anxious (most of the time)... and yes, I’m working on it as each day passes. This new path I am on is helping with that. and I am grateful for everything - our families (especially those who stepped up as our family) and our friends for their support over the years before all this and all those who are still in our lives... and all the people I have met and I can’t wait to see the new things in store in the coming months and years.
If you are looking to change your life and meet new people it’s so easy to do. Link is:https://www.tbsathome.com.au/WebPWS/julesberry to join me.
