Award-winning hairstylist Joyce Chun's inclusive gender-neutral hair salon Intuitive Hair is newly open in Leichhardt Sydney. Hence intuitive hair is born.
With nearly 20 years international experience, a warm touch, and skills specialising in precision cutting, and creative colouring Joyce, Founder & Director of Intuitive Hair is an award winning stylist and educator. Graduated from Vidal Sassoon Academy, with more than 18 years current industry experience and shares her time teaching at TAFE in Australia. Working with an increasingly diverse clientele including those from my LGBTIQ family over the years has highlighted the need to create a safe space where every individual is allowed to explore their image, to find their "look" that represents who they are and their lifestyle, taking into account the individual transition into each life stage. We believe the current pricing structure in the industry does not take into account what we know as a society, that there are more than just two genders. That hair has no gender. As such we've created a pricing structure that is fair and the same for all. Our haircut pricing is based on time taken and our colour creations are again time based and take into account the product used. Meaning you only pay for the product that's used during the creation process for your individual look. Hair has a memory. Hair has a history. We are here to create beauitful hair using the individual's natural hair movement. When we create our client's new hairstyle we take the time to tailor each look to our client's individual style and lifestyle. The true test of a good haircut is how well it grows out and how it looks after it's washed and has been left to dry naturally. We teach simple steps to recreate your new look yourself once you've left the salon. This is because we understand that we live in a fast paced world and are often time poor.

Thank you for everyone's patience and support. The past few years have been a wild time. We are closed for a long overdue holidays for 3 weeks. 21st July - 15th August 2026.
Currently booked out for July and August atm. Will be able to take on new clients at the beginning of September.
For new enquiries we will be able to respond as soon as we are back on Aussie soil/time 15th August onwards.

I've had the awesome opportunity to give this talented human a beautiful hair transformation recently.
came in with dark brown hair and wanted to go blonde. It took 4 hrs and the results speaks for itself. Thanks to without this wonderful product I would not have been able to achieve Dominic's blonde ambition.

If you are wondering If you should cut your hair short? I highly recommend you to try It at least once in your life. It's a liberating experience. Short hair can bring out your facial features and enhance your look to stand out from the crowd.
Yasmin had long hair down to her waist and I had the opportunity to cut It all off this year. She has kept It short ever since. She loves the way It feels and takes less time to style her hair now. It's a great look and It really suits her.

Oli actually has brown hair he is definitely one of my youngest clients that wanted me to scalp bleach his hair. You can see his before and after photos in the stories. It took 3 hours to do this transformation and It really suits him. Great hair does happen over night.
