I think we naturally show people the yes, the wins, the part where it worked, the nice photo & the finished result. But none of it exists without the awkward, tiny, uncertain, slightly questionable buts that came before it.

The but is 17 year old Jake taking mirror selfies at work with that hair.

It’s the dolls heads at TAFE that I would now like everyone to respectfully ignore.

It’s a dining chair in a bedroom because apparently that was enough for me to decide, yep, salon. 😂

It’s every random little version of the business before there was JF Hair Co, before there was a team and definitely before there was YOURS.

And the funny thing is, none of it felt like “the beginning” at the time.

I was just doing hair.
Then doing a bit more hair.
Then somehow opening a salon in 2020.

Then somehow being named Macarthur’s best hairdresser a few months later, ever so casually 😂

Then spending the next six years growing, changing my mind, outgrowing things, starting again in different ways and eventually landing here.

YOURS.

So this one’s for all the buts, the what if it fails & is this the right decision. 🤎🤎

I want to be a rich dimensional brunette was the brief.

We welcomed in a new client seeking a salon & stylist that actually listens & gives guidance where needed in the local Campbelltown area as her past experiences haven’t been the best. This is where we restore her faith once more 🤎

Starting point was something that had been done quite recently & not an overall vibe. We had uneven, stripy highlights to the root in some place and not in others & a very warm red/orange base which we wanted to be matching her natural which is cooler and darker.

With a combo of highlights where we wanted to see lightness and lowlights matching her base to break up existing lightness & to give seamless blend into everything else.
Glossed inbetween to cool down her base and match to her natural & root stretched and toned at the basin to bring everything together.

Finished with a gorgeous round brush blowout nailing the brief & giving our client her desired result that will be easy to maintain with just glosses & recommended home care routine. Not needing another big colour service/foil session for atleast 4-6months.

This next chapter feels softer, slower, and more aligned with who we’re becoming.
