The best part of owning a business is just the freedom.
The freedom of time, money, being able to work when I want to, take as many days off as I want to, do what I want when I want, delegate jobs if I need to, communicate with customers/students and give them good quality services, getting the recognition I deserve from customers/students.

I can’t tell you how many jobs I worked where I would be the one communicating with customers and they would tell my boss how impressed/grateful they were with the business done and they’d take ALL the credit and I never got recognised for the effort and time I put in…it sucked!

PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS
How do you protect your business?

You should invest in a business coach especially at the start, however if you don’t want to here’s some tips I’ve learnt since 2020…
- Have strict, THOROUGH policies that cover everythingggggg (cancellations, no shows, fees, how a card will be charged and when, what the client must do, what the client must not do, what your liable for, what you’re not liable for, reminder texts/emails, & so much more - learn it in our course!😉) & have all clients SIGN it!! If you do not implement policies, you risk being walked over and losing your business if something were to go wrong.
- Price services based on YOUR experience and years in the industry, and only put up prices once maybe twice per year.
**personally for me I haven’t brought up my salon prices since Sept 2022**
- INSURANCE - this is an absolute MUST. Please insure everything in your business, all contents, all stock, public liability, salon, everything that moves if you were to pick it up and turn it upside down basically. If you do not insure your business, you risk losing it.

Where to start…it’s a long one I know that much…
I’m so grateful for every single client we have had the pleasure of meeting in our salon. I seriously cannot thank you all enough. The past year has been so challenging yet so rewarding at the same time. From working out of half a bedroom, 3 days a week…to moving into a bit of a bigger space and being full time - I am so proud and happy with how yaspowerbeauty has turned out in this last year! I cannot wait to see this next year unfold!
I will forever thank my #1 supporters, my family & bestfriends and friends for the constant love and support given to myself and YPB every day!!

I need to give a couple of shout outs here…these 3 incredible people deserve it.
I want to personally give a special shout out to mum, how YPB wouldn’t exist without you, you’ve sacrificed a heck of a lot for me and my business and we thank you SO much. From being quite or going out while I had clients, to literally buying a house with a “built in salon”, and then came the renovations…let’s just say she’s glad it’s over! I swear I’ll finish cleaning up the paint I spilt on your tiles….oops…I cannot thank you enough, seriously. I absolutely appreciate every single thing you’ve done. It has not gone unnoticed. I love you xo
Also, my grandma, you absolute legend - I know my clients have you to thank for them falling asleep on the comfiest bed ever, thank you for custom making my dream lash bed…and now, my dream reception desk. I am the luckiest girl ever. I am still in awe of the reception desk and will sit in my salon everyday soaking the gorgeous desk in.
Auntie Nell, well let’s just say YPB wouldn’t exist without you either - thanks for teaching me your ways 2 years ago & giving me my one of now many beauty certificates. Not only that, however your gorgeous creation is now front and Center in my salon…our gorgeous logo. *check out her page - Creative Crafting at N & Co* Every time I look at it, it reminds me of my business and everything I’ve achieved…I’m so blown away!
Again, I thank not only these 3 amazing, incredible & talented people, but every single one of you that continue to stand by me and yaspowerbeauty, and support us. Your love and support is always noticed, from the bottom of my heart, we thank you.
