Things that can affect your brightness, tone and condition

🌟 Over using purple shampoo or using one to harsh for your tone - can make your hair dull, flat and the tone darker than desired, there are a few different strengths and options we can show you

🌟Washing too often - shampooing opens the cuticle and cleanses away natural oils, too often will leave your hair feeling dryer and the gloss washed away.. try a dry shampoo in between, lighter hydration shampoo and skip conditioning your root area (focus first on mids and ends)

🌟 Not installing a shower filter - Mackay has 'hard' water which can cause buildup on the cuticle of the hair causing dullness, flat and harder to colour hair, check out our shower filter options instore.. theyre great for your skin too

🌟Not using heat protection - Ouch! Im sure we have all accidentally burnt our skin on a hot tool in the past, thats the heat that is used frequently on your hair so let's protect it as much as possible. Less frequent heat exposure and a good quality heat protection for heat styling as well as blow drying is key! Without it your ends with feel crisp and the tone brassy

🌟Not using a detox shampoo semi regularly - blonde hair can be much more porous and absorbent, adding a detox shampoo keeps your colour bright and removes build-up from purple shampoos, products , water and our atmosphere
(Your whites in the wash need a Napisan every now and then, your blonde does too!)

🌟Not using an oil or product to seal the ends and cuticle - again blondes are more dry and porous so need a little extra help, on top of that our humid environment isnt great for keeping the cuticle sealed and tone fresh.

🌟Not repairing between appointments - the lighting process is always a little harder on the hair than say a darker gloss, using a bond repair product like k18 after your blonding service will keep it in optimal condition and the tone fresh much longer!

🌟Dont forget if you dont get regular foil appointments, thats ok come in and get a gloss on between! They seal the cuticle, balance the PH and make it oh so shiney
