Here’s the theory: the laser targets pigment. The darker/denser the pigment, the more energy it absorbs which theoretically means more discomfort.

So as your tattoo fades and there’s less pigment for the laser to grab onto, you’d assume it hurts less each session... even though we’re cranking the settings up as we go. 🔬

I’ve been testing this theory on real clients over multiple sessions, and it’s tracking .. pain does seem to ease off as the ink lightens, despite higher settings.

Look at this progress, all the shading is GONE, and those bold dark lines are already breaking up and blurring out. This is exactly what we want to see this early on. ✅

Here’s the science bit: as pigment breaks down, it goes from black → brown → grey before we hit clearance. 🧬

Every fade is a sign the immune and lymphatic system is doing its job, clearing the ink out from the inside.

We’re now leaving 10-12 weeks between sessions at this stage giving the body proper time to break down and remove that pigment before we go again. Patience is the real secret weapon here, not rushing it. 🙌🏼
