Tomorrow night! Diabetes: Plan B is happening in the South West.
Diabetes doesn’t always go to plan. A sensor fails. A pump stops working. A hypo happens at work or school. Sometimes you’re simply not sure who to call, what to do, or where to turn for support.
That’s exactly what Diabetes: Plan B is about.
Join the PDC Health Hub team tomorrow night, Friday 9 October, for a practical and interactive evening exploring the real-life situations that can catch us off guard - and how to feel more prepared when they happen.
We’ll talk through:
• Diabetes technology fails and troubleshooting
• Hypo and emergency plans
• Diabetes-related medical emergencies
• Diabetes distress and where to seek support
• Care plans and accessing ongoing support
• When to turn to your healthcare team, tech company or peer community
• Building your own practical Plan B
And afterwards, stick around for a relaxed community sundowner - a chance to catch up, ask questions and connect with others who understand the highs, lows and everything in between.
📅 Tomorrow! Friday 9 October
⏰ 6:00pm
📍 Geographe Bay Yacht Club
Whether you live with diabetes, support someone who does, or simply want to feel more prepared, you’re very welcome.
There’s still time to grab your ticket - we’d love to see you there.

October is looking VERY busy for the WA Lions Diabetes Club! 💙
(Although probably not as busy as November!!)
Our calendar is filling up with plenty of opportunities to connect, serve and get out into the community - and we have a feeling there’ll be a few more things added before the month is done! 👀
A few highlights already on the calendar:
🩺 4 October: Lions Health & Wellness Expo
💬 9 October: Diabetes: Plan B with PDC Health Hub
🐂 10 October: Dardanup Bull & Barrel Festival
🦁 Our usual monthly club meeting
🎂 Steve’s birthday!
🤝 WA District Convention
…and no doubt plenty more along the way!
It’s shaping up to be another big month of community, connection, diabetes awareness and Lions service 🫶☺ Hope to see you there!

Ahh diabetes.
A sensor fails. A pump stops. A hypo lands at the worst possible moment. And somewhere in the middle of it, the real question: who do I even call? 📞
Diabetes: Plan B is our next South West event: a practical, interactive session for people living with diabetes and the people who support them (yes, parents and carers, we're looking at you).
We'll work through the scenarios that actually keep you up at night. Troubleshooting tech. Hypo and emergency plans for school, work and everyday life. Recognising diabetes distress and knowing where to take it. Care plans and what they unlock. And untangling who helps with what - your healthcare team, the device companies, or peer support.
Not a lecture. A room full of people problem-solving out loud 💙
Then stay for a sundowner with the PDC Health Hub team and your local diabetes community (👋), for the questions you didn't want to ask in front of everyone, and for the literal highs and lows of life.
