I wrapped up my season yesterday with the most beautiful bridal party - thank you Emma for having me, you looked absolutely divine ❤️‍🔥

Over the past twelve months I’ve battled head and heart whether to pack away the brushes for good, firstly with dropping weekend work until ultimately, the pull to take an indefinite break was stronger. I have absolute FOMO in missing out on all of the beautiful days that I get to share in, but life has pivoted and if I didn’t make room for change and opportunities, I’d have spent another year with half a foot in the door. I want to step away while my love for it is still there 💟 I’ll be focusing on our other business, where I can support my husband and his team on providing therapy in the NDIS space, alongside my barre teaching, which has been filling my cup 💗

I have worked the last 13 years of wedding seasons, back to back, often booked 18 months ahead, prioritising the days of others through unwavering commitment. I’ve spent years working full time elsewhere, survived the crushing impact Covid had on our industry and raised two beautiful children over the past 6.5 years. It has been a privilege to be chosen time and time again by brides, some of whom were once bridesmaids and that honour will never be lost on me. I’ve witnessed some beautiful, intimate moments and some crazy, out of line behaviour too 😆

Wow, it’s been a minute 🫣Over 7 months since my last post, in fact. I thought it was timely to confirm that I’m still very much here, a full wedding season ahead, with some absolutely lovely brides 🤍🥰

I do get the odd message asking if I’m still taking bookings, given I’m not active on socials 🤭 The truth is, I loathe this part of business. Posting regularly creates an expectation to be constantly active and therefore, an accountability to maintain that. Its just not for me. I hate showing my face on here and you’d never catch me talking into a camera, I’d be cringing the whole time 🫠
I’m also very mindful of my little babes seeing and remembering my face and not the back of a phone - a battle of balance in this day and age.

Given my work is 95% bridal parties, that’s my jam. An unpopular opinion perhaps, but it’s not my place to create content on your wedding day 🤷🏻‍♀️. If there is a moment where time allows and it’s not disruptive, sure, I’ll grab a quick snap, but I certainly don’t take photos of every person in my chair. I guess this is why you don’t see my work posted often.

Last season, I did three weddings a week, which in hindsight, was too much. This season, I’m capping it at two per week and am only working weekdays 🥳 I have absolutely loved my weekends at home with my babes in the off-season and I’m so excited to spend a Summer with them 🤗 I’ve done 10 years of weekend weddings with my darling husband carrying the weekend parenting load for the last 5 years ❤️ I feel so lucky to be in the position to make this choice and strike some balance. I want to thank every client who has booked me over the years and those clients who continue to choose me in the seasons ahead 💘

Hi 👋🏼 I’m alive! Busiest month of the season and a crazy start to the year with mum life. Just wanted to reassure my brides that I’ve not disappeared, Instagram and content creation just comes last in life for now!

I’ve made the decision to hit pause on weekend weddings from June 2023, onwards. This change does not effect those brides who have an existing Saturday booking. Until I decide otherwise, I will be taking on weekday weddings only and trials will be available on selected Saturdays.

I’ve worked almost every weekend, August through to May for the last 6 years. It’s time to soak up my babes and enjoy some family time while they’re still so little. I can’t wait to be in the photos with them, not just receiving them! ❣️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
