OzWellness Emu Oil
The highest quality Australian emu oil products for skincare, haircare and muscle/joint issues. All-natural, free from nasties and proudly 100% Australian!
Single-sourced from a sustainable and ethical Emu Farm in Queensland. Our priority when dreaming OzWellness up, was to create ethical and sustainable health, wellness & beauty products sourced from our own incredible Australian backyard. That’s why we chose Emu oil as the first of our hero products. This all round multi-purpose oil has the potential to benefit so many people, and our dream is that everyone the world over has access to it. We also wanted to confidently bring to market the highest grade All-Australian emu oil. We knew this would only be possible by working directly with a farmer, one who is passionate about the welfare of their animals, raising them free range, with a diverse natural diet and who wasn’t adding antibiotics and hormones unnecessarily to their feed. We wanted our customers to have as close an experience of farm gate to home as possible, from a single source with minimal handling in between. So began OzWellness Emu oil. We look forward to showing you just how amazing these products are for your whole family.

Happy National Wenis Day 🎉 (yes, that's a real slang word, and yes, we're doing a whole post about it)
For the uninitiated: your "wenis" is the loose bit of skin on the underside of your elbow. It has almost no oil glands of its own, which is exactly why elbows can be one of the driest, roughest patches on your whole body.
So we wanted to take a moment to appreciate everything your elbows do for you, because they get zero credit: putting your arm around the people you love, getting your morning coffee from the bench to your mouth (truly a full-time job), the strategic elbow nudge when your mate needs to see something RIGHT NOW, holding your head up through a meeting that could've been an email, the elbow-bump hello when you're too polite for germs, helping to reach that one spot in the middle of your back to scratch that itch, and let's be honest — flicking the light switch when your arms are full of groceries.
Today, we see you, elbow — and we're giving you the love you so richly deserve. So in honour of that, we're asking everyone to take a moment and give their elbows some love with a good wenis massage.

How to actually pick a good emu oil - most people don't know what to look for.
1. Single-sourced. If a brand can't tell you about the farm their oil comes from, that's worth questioning - quality varies hugely by farm, diet, and processing.
2. Check the colour. Good emu oil is pale opaque white and changes consistency between hotter and cooler months due to the fat content. Dark yellow, or super clear and runny especially in cooler weather is a red flag.
3. One ingredient. Pure emu oil should just say emu oil — no mystery fragrance, no fillers, no cheaper oils mixed in.
4. Ask about lab testing - and what it actually covers. It's a requirement by Australian law and it's how you catch a diluted or adulterated oil, and proper batch testing checks freshness (peroxide value and free fatty acid level — both catch an oil that's starting to go rancid before you'd ever smell or see it).
5. Check where it's from. Australian sourced oil generally comes with stricter farming and processing standards than oil from countries without regulation.
OzWellness ticks every one of these...
* Single Queensland farm
* Pale and pure
* One ingredient - pure emu oil!
* Lab-tested
* 100% Australian.

This week's DIY recipe: Coffee & Emu Oil Body Scrub.
You'll need: ½ cup used coffee grounds (cooled), ¼ cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of our Pure Emu Oil, and a few drops of essential oil if you like a scent.
Mix it all together until it holds like wet sand, massage into damp skin in the shower, then rinse and pat dry — no need to moisturise after, the oil's already taken care of that. Keep leftovers in the fridge in an airtight jar for up to a week, and do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin.
We'll share a new recipe every week. Let us know if you try this one!

A 40,000+ year old natural skin and hair care remedy!
Did you know Indigenous Australians have been using emu oil for around 40,000 years? Still going strong today - that says something.
Ours comes from 100% free-range Australian emus, raised on one Queensland farm with no antibiotics or hormones, and minimal handling from farm to bottle. It's naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, F and K2, plus 70% omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids), with a profile close to our own skin's
People use it for dry skin, eczema and psoriasis-prone skin, sore joints and muscles, scars, and hair and scalp care. We won't call it a miracle cure, but there's real research behind it — we'll share the actual studies on Thursday.

Ever wondered where our emu oil comes from?
We work exclusively with a local emu farm here in Queensland to single-source all the that goes into our products. This is what makes our oil so good - the birds have plenty of room to roam and live in an environment that closely reflects their natural habitat, with a strong focus on natural and ethical farming practices.
Single sourcing means we know exactly where our oil comes from and can maintain the highest quality for every single product.
★ Free-range emus with plenty of room to roam
★ Natural environment where the birds can graze and forage to supplement their feed
★ Farm practices free from GMOs, pesticides and other unnecessary chemicals
★ Rendered on-site, reducing handling and stress on the birds
★ Every batch undergoes multiple laboratory tests for quality and consistency
★ Around 95% of each bird is utilised - including the meat, skin and feathers

Happy Friday, everyone! Let's talk about what this oil actually does for people.
For joints and muscles: customers massage it into stiff, achy joints and sore muscles after long days or long walks. The anti-inflammatory action has real lab research behind it, and it's been used this way for generations.
For skin — eczema, psoriasis, dry and irritated patches: our Skin Repair Cream is built for this, a thicker barrier layer for stubborn spots. There's genuine clinical research on emu oil calming inflamed skin, and customers regularly tell us their patches feel calmer within a few weeks. Give it around 30 days for a fair trial.
For hair and scalp: the Shampoo and Pure Oil are used for dry, itchy, flaky scalps and general hair condition — gentle enough that plenty of parents use it on their kids too.
It's not a miracle cure and we'll always say so, but this is an oil trusted for 40,000 years and backed by a genuinely growing body of published research. Got a question about your situation? Comment below or send us a message, we read every one.
Have a beautiful weekend.
❄️ Why does Emu Oil go hard in winter?
If you’ve noticed your Emu Oil becoming thicker or even developing little white fatty pieces during winter, don’t worry—this is completely natural!
Emu oil is made up of a unique blend of healthy fats. As the temperature drops, some of the more saturated fatty acids naturally become firm, causing the oil to thicken. These are the very fats that make emu oil so nourishing and protective for your skin, so you definitely don’t want them removed.
Those little white fatty bits you might see? They’re simply the harder fats that have solidified in the cold. Once they touch your warm skin, they’ll melt beautifully and absorb as normal.
Here are 3 easy ways to gently warm your Emu Oil:
💧 1. Run it under warm tap water
Hold the bottle under warm (not hot) running water for a minute or two.
☕ 2. Place it in a cup of warm water
Sit the bottle in a mug or bowl of comfortably warm water until it softens.
☀️ 3. Leave it on a warm windowsill
A sunny spot inside your home is often enough to gently warm the oil throughout the day.
A few tips:
• Use water that’s comfortable on bare skin, but not boiling hot.
• Give the bottle a good shake once it’s warmed.
• Apply straight away while it’s beautifully fluid.
With just a little extra care during the colder months, your Emu Oil will be ready to nourish your skin just as nature intended. And as the weather warms up, so will your oil—it’ll soon be flowing freely from the bottle again.
