2023 was another unforgettable year for Longko Salon, bringing our biggest team yet, exciting opportunities and so many special memories.

For the first time, we had four apprentices training in the salon at the same time, making it an incredibly busy but rewarding chapter for our team. For Marcela, it was one of the most challenging yet rewarding years as a business owner, balancing life at the salon with two national tours , one teaching cutting and another travelling the country as a speaker, proudly advocating for apprenticeships.

Amongst the busy year, we made time to celebrate our team with an amazing staff retreat, heading away together to Sellicks Beach and creating memories outside of the salon. With babies along for the journey, including one growing in Amy’s belly and beautiful little Noah, the year became even more special.

2023 was a year of growth, hard work, connection and unforgettable moments that we will always look back on with so much love. 🤍

It gives us great pleasure to announce that for the 5th year in a row we are officially finalists for the AHIA SA/TAS Salon Business of the year.
We were honoured to take home a win last year and we are now in the running to win back to back 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

But like we always say, these awards are not simply to take home a win, but a reflection and dedication of the hard work the team puts in to make the business what it is today 💚

2022 was a year of growth and new beginnings for the Longko team. Anita found out she was pregnant with beautiful Noah, and boy, did we celebrate! Our Salon team also continued to expand, welcoming new faces and growing the Longko family.
Community continued to be at the heart of what we did. Our community events began to include our entire families, with our children finally becoming old enough to participate and play a significant part in the Salon’s involvement throughout the year. Mum and my sister also played an important role in helping with our community events, making them truly a family effort.
2022 also brought an exciting milestone for Longko, with our first finalist nomination for the Australian Hair Industry Awards. It was a proud moment for our entire team and recognition of the dedication and passion behind the Salon.
2022 was a year about growth, growing our business, our team, our families and our connection with the community. It was another special chapter in the Longko story. 🤍

2021 was another memorable year for Longko Salon, bringing growth, new opportunities and so many moments to celebrate.

We welcomed the biggest team we had ever had, with four apprentices training in the salon at once, while Marcela embarked on a national tour as a De Lorenzo Haircare trainer and the salon became the official partner of Miss Universe.

Our team flourished, from Hair Festival in Sydney to family and salon events, while our client relationships continued to grow stronger and teen participation reached an all time high. We welcomed Jolie, our queen, to the team, celebrated our beautiful Enida getting married, and remembered the lasting legacy of those who had been part of our team.

We also proudly became sponsors of Salisbury Inter, supporting local girls and our sporting community.

2021 was truly a year to remember. 🤍

2020 was yet another big year for Longko Salon, but it also brought one of the most difficult challenges we had ever faced, COVID.

As a salon, we remained open as essential workers, but navigating business during such an uncertain time was incredibly challenging. We were faced with difficult decisions: do we keep our doors open and hope our clients continue to come through them, or do we risk the unknown and potentially put our staff at risk while continuing to trade?

There was no easy answer, but throughout it all, our local community rallied behind us. We were incredibly blessed by the support of our clients and community, and amongst all the uncertainty, we continued doing what we had always done, caring for and serving our community, including some of the most vulnerable people around us.

Sadly, 2020 also brought heartbreak as we experienced the loss of two of our dearest clients. They were more than just clients, they were part of the Longko family.

We will remember you always, and you will remain in our hearts forever. 🤍
