Cosmetic Hair Co
Empowering beauty✨For women with hair-loss🦋Human hair toppers/ponies that look and feel natural💯
POV: you compliment a woman’s hair in a clothing store… and 10 minutes later you’re in the change room getting fitted for a hair topper. 😂
We’d finished two days of consulting in Adelaide and were heading to the airport when we thought we’d quickly stop into this gorgeous clothing store in North Adelaide.
That “quick stop” did not go to plan.
I’m browsing away when I hear, “Oh my God, I LOVE your hair.”
So naturally, I unclipped my topper right there in the shop.
“OH MY GOD. I WANT ONE.”
By pure luck, all my tools were still with me from the consultations.
So instead of shopping like normal people, we ended up in the change room, cape on, tools out, customising a hair topper before heading to the airport.
One minute I’m shopping.
Next minute I’ve opened a Cosmetic Hair Co salon between the dresses.
You genuinely could not script my life and I’m loving it!
When a woman wants a topper… apparently we make it happen anywhere. ✂️😂

It’s amazing what a light, low-density hair topper can do when hair is just starting to thin through the top.
It doesn’t need to be heavy or give you “more hair” than you’ve ever had. Sometimes it’s simply about restoring the density that’s been lost and bringing the hair back to looking like you again.
This is where my background as a colourist really matters.
For me, it’s never just about finding a topper that “matches”.
I’m looking at her biological hair, her skin tone, the colour she already has, the dimension through the hair and how we can make the topper blend as naturally as possible.
With this piece, we chose a soft balayage effect so it complemented her own hair rather than looking like one flat colour sitting on top.
The integrity of the biological hair and scalp is always a priority for me too. A well-selected topper can help disguise regrowth, greys and colour demarcation, which may allow some women to stretch out their colour appointments and give their own hair a little more breathing space.
Her brief was simple — she still wanted to look like herself.
So we kept the coverage small, the density natural and the colour soft and dimensional.
Nothing heavy. Nothing overdone.
Just beautifully blended hair that still feels like her.

86 YEARS OLD. AND SHE WAS NOT ABOUT TO JUST ACCEPT HER HAIR LOSS. ❤️
This beautiful woman has experienced gradual hair loss over the years.
Her hair had become finer and thinner through the top, and at 86 she decided she wasn’t going to simply accept that this was how her hair had to look now.
And I am here for it.
Because since when did wanting beautiful hair have an age limit?
We customised a hair topper to work with her own hair matching her colour, her haircut and the way she likes to wear it.
Look at the difference.
The coverage.
The fullness.
The shape.
But what I love most is that she still looks completely like herself.
She hasn’t suddenly got masses of hair that doesn’t belong on her. It hasn’t overwhelmed her face or changed who she is.
We’ve simply given her back the hair she wanted.
Whether you’re 35, 55, 75 or 86, you don’t have to accept hair loss simply because you’re getting older.
If having more hair makes you feel good, then invest in a hair topper.
There is no age limit on wanting to feel fabulous. ✨
And this beautiful 86-year-old is absolute proof.
One of the questions I’m asked most often when a client gets a hair topper is:
“How do I make it look natural?”
And honestly, the secret is movement.
Whether you’re wearing a short topper, a long topper, light coverage or full coverage, the principle is exactly the same. Your topper hair and your biological hair need to become one head of hair.
In this video I’m using a Mermade hot brush, which I love because it allows me to lift, smooth and create movement at the same time.
Rather than brushing the topper separately, I take sections of the topper together with the biological hair underneath, lift from underneath and brush the two together.
That’s where the magic happens.
You’re blending the two textures, but you’re also putting air into the hair.
And air is important.
If your biological hair is sitting flat and the topper is sitting flat on top of it, that’s when it can start to feel like you’re wearing something on your head rather than it simply being your hair.
Human hair naturally has movement. Even beautifully straight hair moves. It lifts. It falls. It separates. It doesn’t just sit perfectly flat against the head.
So my biggest tip when styling your topper is:
Lift it. Blend it. Move it.
Use a hot brush, a brush or even the tail of a comb to gently lift your own hair into the topper hair and work them together.
The more the two move together, the less you see where one finishes and the other begins.
And that, for me, is one of the biggest secrets to making a hair topper look beautifully natural. 🤍
Expert guidance. Hair that feels like you.

Things I’ve learned in 38 years as a hairdresser.
Not just about hair. About the women behind it.
She apologises before she even shows me her scalp. She stopped looking at the back of her head years ago. She’s been carrying this quietly, waiting until it felt “bad enough” to ask for help.
We live in a society that makes it hard for a woman to walk around confidently when her hair isn’t her own anymore. And there are tears. So many tears, before anyone else ever sees them.
It’s never just about the hair.
If this is you, I want you to know something. You are not imagining it. You are not overreacting. And you were never the only one.
Every woman who sits with me is safe with me. What’s said in that room stays in that room. No judgement, no rush, just care.
And here’s what keeps me doing this after 38 years. The moment she has her hair back, and she says it herself …she comes alive again. Her whole energy lifts. She laughs differently. She stands differently. That moment still gets me every single time.
38 years in, the one thing I know for certain ,the right solution doesn’t hide you. It gives you back.
I’m here to help, whether you’re in Melbourne or interstate. Swipe through, and if this is someone you know, maybe just send it to her quietly. She’ll know why.
