Where do you spray your Perfume?

I am assuming like most of us, you have seen in the movies your favourite actress spraying their perfume all over their neck and on their wrists and rubbing their wrists together with a lot of force.

Well what we now know in fact is that is all totally incorrect. Bummer hey?

The best places to place your perfume is actually the spots that are create heat on the body for example your wrists, the crook of your elbow, the back of your knees and on your stomach.

Also your hair and clothing are great places to spray your perfume too!

Never rub your wrists together, you are just accelerating the breaking down of the scent which means it will not last that long.

Which is another,Bummer.

HOT TIP: Hydrated skin is your best friend. After a shower, moisturise and then add your Eau De Parfum on top!

Hey guys.. it's Mel here..

There are certain fragrances that can transport you back in time.. to places, events and people.

If I ever get even a whiff of Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Perfume.. it reminds me of my beautiful mum. Sometimes, for no reason I can smell the fragrance, and I think of her, which makes me know she's still here with me, guiding me and giving me strength.

I can also smell when spring arrives.. for me.. it's unique a mixture of clean washing and cut grass..

I have a sensitive nose.. I smell things that others can't.. ask my husband.. I'm always asking him if he can smell what I can smell 🙈 and usually.. he can't.

What's your favourite smell that triggers nostalgia or fond memories?

Order your favourite fragrances in samples, so you can see how amazing they smell on your skin.. before you purchase a whole bottle.

Ask us how!

All our fragrances are made in the same Perfumery's that your favourite designer scents are made in.

This is because perfume recipes cannot be trademarked. The bottle, packaging and name of your fav designer fragrance can be trademarked, but not the actual perfume.

Fact is.. you don't wear the bottle, you wear the fragrance and being able to purchase for so much less than the RRP of your designer scents is a huge bonus!!

Check out the fragrance we have available.

Pure fragrances are $46, the Pure Royal Fragrances are $70.

Ask us about how you can get your favourite 👇🏻👇🏼👇👇🏽👇🏾👇🏿

How to ensure that your House Smells AMAZING all the time.

I want my house to Smell Good Naturally, not with chemical smells.

Like first impressions … first smells are REAL!!

Personally, I have, and always will be, self-conscious about the way my house smells. I am offended by "dog smell" and as I have two dogs.. I am obsessed with ensuring that my home doesn't smell like them!

We are immune (nose-blind) to our own smells however good or bad that may be, so it’s always a good idea to put forth the extra effort to make your house smell good. In efforts to make your house smell good, the first step is ‘Clean up’.

Growing up, my idea of the ‘smell of clean’ was Ajax and Domestos (bleach) as this is what my mum used.. however I now know that these smells are toxic and these chemicals are hormone disruptors and not something that I want to me exposed to.

Here’s a list of things I’ve done to make my house smell incredible.

1. Pick a Day of the Week to Deep Clean
2. Do Your Laundry
3. Clean Your Kitchen
4. Wipe down the walls
5. Clean the bathroom
6. Vacuum or mop the floors
7. Boil some Lemon Water
8. Decorate with Eucalyptus leaves
9. Add essential oils to your air vents
10. Get an aromatherapy diffuser or Reed sticks
11. Bake some biscuits or a cake.

Since you’re already reading this trying to get ideas about how to make your house smell incredible, I’m pretty sure you’ve got a busy lifestyle! While that is a GREAT thing, life gets in the way of basic chores. I highly recommend picking a day of the week to deep clean your house, that way, the cleanliness should last you until the next week. My cleaning day is on Saturday. I work weekdays 9:00 – 5:00 pm and frequntly until 7:00pm so this works for my lifestyle. After your first week, the challenge will be (wait for it….) to do it again the following week! Make it a routine, that’s the hardest part.

I use my Google Calendar for EVERYTHING. I get reminders and adding a cleaning day and time keeps me accountable.

2. Do Your Laundry
The first thing I notice when I do laundry is the smell. My goodness it smells good!

I use a grey water safe detergent, fabric softener and essential oils. Then, I throw in a dryer sheet if I am using the clothes dryer to finish the job.

3. Clean Your Kitchen
Cleaning the kitchen does not only mean ‘do the dishes’, it means exactly what it says, ‘Clean the Kitchen!’ That includes wiping down the bench tops with disinfectants, sweeping and mopping the floor, wiping down the stove and refrigerator. Don’t forget to clean your refrigerator, wipe down and (in some cases) power wash your rubbish bin with a warm towel mixed with hot soapy water with a dash of eucalyptus oil.

Sometimes, I throw a cotton ball with eucalyptus oil or lemon oil
underneath the garbage bag to keep a fresher smell.

I mop with a spray mop with a dash of vinegar and lemon oil in it. It’s light, smells good, and a time saver.

4. Wipe Down the Walls
Yes, walls get dirty too! Think about the light switches you touch on a daily basis. Not only are bacteria crawling all over it, it probably has visible dirt all around it. Make sure to get to your entry and exit points of the house. Those places are likely to have the most traffic, therefore, they will accumulate the most dirt.

5. Clean the Bathroom/s
When you walk into a bathroom, the first thing I notice is the mirror. Is it dirty? I hate seeing someone post a bathroom selfie and I’m so distracted by the debris on the mirror I can’t focus on the person. Make sure to clean the mirror, wipe down the benchs, clean inside and outside of the toilet, clean the shower/bath, sweep/mop and bam, you’re done!

6. Vacuum or Mop the Floors
Whether you or Roomba does it… it has to get done.

It is important the carpet gets clean and gets odours out. A good way to get odours out of carpet is to sprinkle a bit of baking soda onto the carpet. It is a natural deodoriser and very inexpensive to buy.

You can also purchase one of our vacuum refreshers and as you vacuum it puts a lovely fragrance into the air. I actually look forward to vacuuming now... lol

Now that we’ve got the house clean in its entirety, we can move on to the extra steps to make your house smell incredible!

7. Boil some lemon water
I can't remember where I learned this, but every time I do it, I always get compliments about how lovely the house smells!

Use a small saucepan, put water, lemon juice and slices of the lemon into the water. Pop in a splash of vanilla essence and some rosemary sprigs and simmer on the stove.

I have also heard you can do the same thing with oranges and bayleaves, or cloves, just choose your favs and you will not be disappointed!

8. Decorate with eucalyptus leaves
I love an earthy look, but decorating with eucalyptus leaves, you’ll get 2 for 1. You get a simple, beautiful, classy, and practical look with a clean and fresh scent. It's not that ‘outside’ earthy smell, but like a clean rain forresty smell.

9. Add essential oils to your air vents
Pop some essential oils on a cotton ball and pop in your heater vents or on the return air filter.

Take my word, this is tried and true and is a sure way to have your house smelling fresh, particuloarly in winter.

10. Get an Aromatherapy Diffuser or Reed Sticks
An aromatherapy diffuser and essential oil set is a great asset to keep a fresh light aroma in your house.

If using essential oils, be sure to check that they are pet friendly, if that's too hard, just stick with Reed Diffusers. Our selection is designer perfume fragrances in feminine or masculine scents that are perfect for creating a particular mood in your home.

Maybe it’s just me with a super-sensitive sense of smell, but all I know is I’ve finally found something that works to combat the smells.

Bonus Tip
11. Bake biscuits or a cake
Last but not least, bake some biscuit. It makes the house smell amazing… plus, at this point, you’ve earned it!

These 11 steps should never have you saying “my house never smells fresh.” We’ve eliminated that from your

Scent is the most powerful memory trigger. With all of the tips I’ve mentioned above, how do you want to be remembered?
