I used to think the faster I lost weight, the better.
So I lived on meals like this.
A big pot of kale vegetable soup. Lunch and dinner. Day after day.
Did I lose weight quickly?
Absolutely.
Was I hungry?
F**k yes.
Did I have enough energy to train properly, recover, and actually enjoy life?
Not a chance.
And where was the protein?
There wasn’t any.
Sure, it gave me a hell of a clean out 😅 but it didn’t give my body what it needed to thrive.
What I didn’t understand back then was that losing weight and nourishing your body are two completely different things.
Anyone can slash calories for a short period of time. But if you’re constantly hungry, low on energy, losing muscle, thinking about food 24/7, and counting down the days until you can eat normally again… that’s not a sustainable plan.
And the result?
I gained the weight back.
Because I hadn’t learned how to eat for life.
These days I focus on the things that actually matter:
✅ Appropriate calories
✅ High protein
✅ Balanced carbs and fats
✅ Fibre
✅ Foods I enjoy
✅ A plan I can stick to long term
Weight loss isn’t about eating as little as possible.
It’s about eating enough to fuel your body while creating a sustainable calorie deficit.
Because the best diet isn’t the one that helps you lose weight the fastest.
It’s the one that helps you keep it off.

Friday Motivation
Sometimes the scale only moves a little… but body composition tells a completely different story.
Muscle gain, fat loss, improved shape, better posture, more confidence, clothes fitting differently—these are all signs of progress that a number on the scale can’t always show.
Don’t let a small change on the scale make you forget how far you’ve come. The biggest transformations often happen in the mirror, in your photos, and in the way you feel.
Keep showing up. Keep being consistent. Trust the process.
Because sometimes the scale moves a little, but the body transformation is impossible to ignore.

30kg felt impossible… until it wasn’t.
That first photo was me holding 30kg in the gym because my PT wanted me to physically feel what I had lost. At the time, it felt MASSIVE. Life changing. I remember thinking how is this even possible? because there was once a version of me that couldn’t even lose 500g… let alone 30kg
Then I look at photo 2… and realise that number became 60kg lost.
And honestly? Sometimes even I look at it and think how the hell did I do that?
But the answer is… I didn’t do it overnight.
It took years.
It took tears.
It took quitting and coming back.
It took falling off track more times than I can count.
It took days where I wanted to give up.
And it was never just me.
I was lucky enough to have a PT stood by me for 8 years. Week after week. Month after month 🧿🤘🏻Even when I disappeared and came back again, there was never judgement… just “okay, let’s keep going.” And for that, I’ll forever be grateful because she believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. ❤️
Then eventually… it became me. My mindset changed. The conversations in my head changed from “I can’t” to “I can.”
And one thing I learnt?
You do not need to wait until Monday.
You do not need a new week.
You do not need a fresh month.
One bad meal does not ruin a good day.
One bad day does not ruin a good week.
And falling off track doesn’t mean you failed.
It just means… get back on tomorrow.
Because progress isn’t made by never falling. It’s made by getting back up every single time.

This isn’t a mugshot 😂
It’s my licence photo… 10 years apart.
And no, it’s not just a 60kg weight loss.
It’s the difference between a woman who had given up…
and a woman who decided to fight for herself again.
First photo?
Unhealthy. Unmotivated. Didn’t care.
Second photo?
Healthier. Happier. Stronger mentally.
And somehow looking younger now than I did 10 years ago.
And in the middle of that 10-year journey… I also survived a stroke.
That alone changed my whole perspective on life.
These photos aren’t just 10 years apart…
they represent survival, growth, strength, and choosing health over and over again.
Your life can completely change too.
Start now. Stay consistent. Never give up ❤️

This is me. This is really me.
And I’m still in shock when I look at these photos and see how far I’ve come.
I didn’t know if I had the willpower… or the strength to keep pushing when things got hard.
When I started… I didn’t truly believe I’d change.
Not because I didn’t want it…
But because I’d tried before and failed.
This wasn’t quick.
This wasn’t easy.
And it definitely wasn’t perfect.
It was discipline over motivation.
Consistency over excuses.
And showing up… even when I didn’t feel like it.
Tears.
Setbacks.
Hunger.
Illness.
Doubt.
But I didn’t quit.
And that’s the difference.
Now
I look at myself and feel something I never thought I would…
Pride.
Not just in how I look…
But in the woman I became to get here.
If you’re waiting to feel ready — you won’t.
If you’re waiting for it to be easy — it won’t be.
But if you’re willing to stay consistent — it WILL happen.
Start. Stay. Finish.
