If you want to glow on the outside you need to be less inflamed on the inside!
This means crowding out less nutritious food with anti-inflammatory, nutritious & delicious foods to feed your skin cells.
Anti-Inflammatory foods include:
- High amounts of omega 3 fatty acids such as wild caught salmon, trout, oily fish, walnuts, flaxseed.
- Moderate amounts of omega 6 fatty acids such as olive oil, macadamia oil, avocado (incl oil), nuts.
- High amounts of anti-oxidants found in dark green leafy veg, deeply coloured fruit & veg (blueberry, beetroot, blackberries)
Inflammatory foods include:
- Refined processed foods (generally found in boxes throughout the inner aisles of the supermarket
- Refined sugar
- Alcohol
- Gluten
- Dairy
- Any other food that personally gives you any reaction at all including GI issues such as gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea.
Note: these foods can be included occasionally in a moderate diet however if you have been over-consuming & your skin/health is not feeling great, then reducing your consumption is best.
Start small by adding one anti-inflammatory food per day and watch your skin change over the next month.
