All hail, Queen La Luna 👑
Back in February, I ventured to the Hunter Valley in celebration of my baby sister getting married! 😆
Given that I hadn’t physically seen my fam in 2+ years, I was equal parts nervous and excited.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It turned out to be a spectacular event (there were fireworks!!) and I was a guest at a wedding (whaaat 🤯).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also got to hook my mama up with some glam 😆
This was the first time I’d have her in my chair and it was bit of a big deal for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My mother, La Luna, has been an ongoing source of influence and inspiration for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Always The Most Fabulous person in a room and very much of the mindset that everyday is an occasion to look and BE your best.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She possesses unshakeable-unapologetic confidence and is truly bold at heart. Very much embodying her name she is as dynamic, mysterious and multi faceted as the moon 🌝🌚
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is a real level of trust and intimacy when someone sits in your chair and you are inches away from their face.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You study your canvas, intuitively selecting colours to apply; aiming to further enhance the inner radiance, The Essence of your subject.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I opted for a fairly clean look for my mum, placing emphasis on her eyes and of course you can’t go wrong with a bold lip 💄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m sure you can agree that she has such a regal and radiant presence (I KNOW she was a queen in a past life) and the sparkliest of eyes - not just because I put a bit of glitter on them✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This exchange is one I will always treasure 🥰🥰🥰
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All Hail, Queen La Luna 👑👑
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS
Today also marks her birthday 🥳 🎉

I love recreating history but what I love even more is when people come in with distinct ideas of how they want to express themselves.
I’m Defs not here to follow trends or tell you that you must look or be a certain way.
That cookie cutter approach to beauty, fashion and life just ain’t it for me.
I love collaborating with whoever is in my chair, finding ways of blending this and that so that the final result communicates to the world This Is Me. Always here for those authentic expressions of self ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I worked alongside my gorgeous client Zara to create this look during her trial and whilst she didn’t go with this look on the day, I hope that you see this as a bit of inspo and understand that:
▪️There are no rules
▪️You can have fun and be creative
▪️You can work with your natural curls and texture
▪️You can be bold or understated or somewhere in between
▪️You can be your own icon and set your own trends
🎶 express yourself, do it good🎶
Supporting you always.

I love stories.
The ones I hear most at work are all the different ways that folk meet their loves:
❣️At bars
❣️On dating apps
❣️At uni
❣️Chance meetings
❣️Even Twitter like these two happy beans!
Isn’t that cool and kinda unexpected ?
Following your curiosity can lead you to all kinds of places and I guess a chance meeting can happen in the digital sphere just as much as it can happen in real life.
For as much as I’ve been bewildered by the internet and its various online spaces at times, it really is such a great tool for connection and bringing people together that wouldn’t cross paths irl for so many reasons.

If you’ve got a gorgeous meet cute story, a happily ever after tale or something else that’s beautiful to share, Please leave me a comment or send me a message.
Need some happy tales and fuzzy feels coz things feel kinda heavy out there 🥰❤️

PS doesn’t the second photo give you wartime kiss vibes ?!

I’ve got this pal that wants to work on weddings but kinda thinks they’re all boring and traditional and hella stressy and not fun and therefore not worth it.
WRONG
I thought the same for a short time, however as the years have gone by I’ve worked with more and more folk/couples/humans that are creating their own traditions and curating events that are 100000% on brand for them.
I mean look at these two. SO much personality, individualism and beaut details 🤤😍
Sure, this was take FIVE!! and not what was originally planned, but Jel & Tom have done a stellar job at turning a sh*tuation into the most fabulous celebration of love and unity.
This makes me so excited and thirsty for more work with babes like this 😆
Take note future wedders, you can do whatever tf you want and I’ll be here to support you all the way 😆❤️🤘🏽

Tap for all hands involved to bring this together ✨
PS I had to include a snippet of the most gushing review I’ve ever received which made me 🥺

Earlier this year I had someone come through my stall and talk to me about how they’d seen my biz in Frankie magazine many moons ago and how it then set them on a journey of self exploration and expression via falling in love with vintage style. Hearing this gave me goosebumps and set my heart on fire!
As it turned out, this person won my raffle prize which included a hair and makeup trial. I then got to look after her on her wedding day!!!!
What a beautiful full circle moment 🥰❤️

⚡️I LOVE that the inspo for this wedding was Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom.
⚡️I LOVE the family portrait ft floofy friends 😆🥰
⚡️I LOVE Tessa’s gown 😍
⚡️ I LOVE that the universe sent Tessa to me irl after indirectly being part of each other’s lives.✨✨✨
•
More and more I’m noticing that the folk I attract are a bit offbeat like me and are so committed to showcasing their personalities in ways great and small. Hit me up if you feel like we’re the right fit for each other ❤️❤️❤️

It’s so easy to peer into the lives of others - those that have what you want or are doing what you want to do and let the stories run re: why you can’t be, do or have it and let that bitter bish-green eyed monster take over..
Whilst it’s okay to dive into that dumpster, I encourage you to shift your focus and put that energy toward really creating & curating your life by design. It doesn’t matter about the timeframe or how you do it, just keep moving and working toward your vision.

This is your permission slip to grab life by the hair fam. I’ll see you in the ring ✨⚡️

This wedding holds a really special place in my heart.

❤️ the most beautiful venue

When Viv reached out about styling for her event day, she was glad that I was openly LGBTQIA+ friendly and was also curious about how comfortable and experienced I was with mature clients due to having never had her makeup done before.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know that it can be hard to hand over the reigns on such an important day, but I reassured Viv that I was so happy to work with her and replicate the kind of makeup look that she’s used to so that she’d feel beautiful, radiant and unshakeable on her wedding day.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Viv was a nervous bunny on the day, understandably. I made sure that I brought my chill vibes and took my time to ensure that everything was just so.
We worked together to create a look that really matched her queen energy 👑
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was so mesmerised by the final look.
So much attention to detail - the shoes, the flowers, the beautiful jewellery, the decor. All so perfect and well curated.

Thank you Viv for allowing me to support you.
These photos are so special and I hope you and Charlie have a lifetime of beautiful moments together.

Earlier this week I went to one of my favourite places in Victoria - Wilsons Prom - for a really special elopement. This was the brainchild of Anna , whose vision and intention was for diversity and inclusion within the wedding industry especially on the back of
The journey to bringing this to life was very stop-start: multiple lockdowns, postponements and a few other hiccups along the way. Because of this, it was a savoured experience for all 😌

This job affords me ongoing opportunities to learn about others and their worlds.
What I learned about Jaynaya whilst doing her HMU is that she loves sweeties (like me) and more importantly, that it’s customary in her culture to be given a skin upon birth (I thiiiink this is possum) and for it to be added to as the years go by so that when you’re an elder you have a cloak that can be worn to significant events and even used during burial.
We were trying to work out how this skin was treated to make it such a vibrant colour and what tools were used to create etchings.. soooo incredible !
•
I loved seeing the fusion of contemporary details (Snakey’s tailored suit and Jaynaya’s fabby jumpsuit) with traditional elements like the cloak, body paint, headdress and music.
Such an honour and privilege to connect with and support Jaynaya and Snakey, who met in high school, in having an official ceremony on Gunaikurnai land 😌

It’s always really special (and maybe a little nervous-making) when you get to look after a pal.
Gabby is one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. A really genuine and beautiful human (so is her partner !)
•
She wanted to go for a bit of a Midsummer Night’s Dream vibe 🍃🌿🍃we utilised her fabby hair texture and kept the makeup quite natural.
I love the texture and colour palette so much. So many little details that tell a beautiful story 🥰
Thank you so much for having me along. Such an honour ❤️❤️❤️

Not going to lie, my fave photos that I get back from clients are ones ft their fur babes 😆😆😆
•
I had a fear of doggos since I was a child.
The kind of fear that would paralyse my body and would mean that I’d have to cross the road at the very sight of a doggo.
I was like this for YEARS !
One of my pals from fashion school invited to me to his casa for a meal and I remember pulling up and seeing this HUGE doggo.
The fear.
The anxiety.
Vali was a Great Dane.
I confused her excited nature for predatory behaviour. She did not want to munch on my arm. She wanted to be my pal 😌
I came to discover that she was a gentle bean and I loved seeing her. This relationship I had with Vali was so pivotal in healing my fear of doggos.
•
Fast forward to now where one of my happy places is the dog park. I spent SO much time there during lockdown. I am your resident dog perve. Not in a slimy way, an appreciative way.
I often joke about throwing the towel in and becoming a dog groomer. How cool would it be to do vintage styling on doggos 😆😆
•
Please show me your doggo photos if we work together. Pet show and tell is my favourite !!!
