4 M O N T H S . . . where has the time gone? Certainly not on insta 🤣 I've been terrible at posting but to be honest life has been so busy.
I try and limit how much time I spend on social media otherwise all my 'free' time disappears 😯... and usually with some $$! But can I just say:
1. I'm loving the nappies I bought recently (super thirsty!)
2. We haven't heard of the 4 month sleep regression this time round Though that's simply thanks to 😌
So here's some sleep tips for any mamas out there who need a little more R and R. ·limit phone, iPads and TVs at bed time
·organise a rota with your partner for feeds/responsibility so you get at least one night off
·have a warm bath or shower no more than 30 min before bed
·apply sleep oil tip your temples, and pillow before bed (don't forget to put some on baby too)
·if falling asleep is difficult, try relaxing music, a sleep meditation or just counting your breaths 1-10 over and over and over.....Zzzzzzz

We love our stockist Honestly Natural because Nonie takes the time to demystify the ingredients in so many 'natural' brands out there, make sure you follow her to be informed!
🌟Misleading Ingredients In the spotlight 🌟
Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB) is a common surfactant used in personal care products. It is used because it is great in foaming up products like shampoos and bath products and hand soaps. It is derived from Coconut or palm oil. It is not a pure coconut product, it is produced in two steps, beginning with the reaction of dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) with fatty acids from the coconut or palm oil. So be very careful when you read DERIVED from. That doesn’t always mean it is free from irritations or toxicities.
It is often marketed as ‘natural’ because in it’s original form it comes from coconut or palm. Now it is synthesised and can cause contact dermatitis, eye irritation, and other allergic reactions. . It was voted allergen of the year in 2004 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society.
I have been asked to check a few products in my Inbox this week and there were quite a few brands using it – Moogoo, Thank you, Gaia..... See a trend? All supermarket/chemist ‘natural’ brands.
Basically anything you can get from a supermarket isn't usually the very best and definitely not the cleanest, that is because they need to keep prices low to stay competitive with all the other products on the shelves so cheaper 'natural' ingredients are used.
So that's the low down on Cocamidopropyl Betaine,
Feel free to message me if you need some products ingredients checked xx

N O N A P P Y R A S H . . . no worries!
Aah my little happy chappy. Thank goodness we've got to grips with those issues. I remember how traumatic nappy changes with eve were. These days we just sing songs and pass the time. No worries for us ❤
Don't let nappy rashes take away precious bonding time with your little love...

D A Y S . . . each day merges into one. Dictated by school drop off and school pick up. We don't seem to get much done you and I. Our time is split between laundry, chickens and dinner. I feel guilty as you are shunted from car seat to mat, mat to car seat.
I can feel the days trickling by, you getting bigger, getting smarter. I wish I could freeze these days. To relinquish my jobs and just hang out with you my little ray of sunshine. ☀️

W A S H . . . the only thing I'd use on Basil's skin right now in the Bath is our Bath Fizzles.
WHY? Well, they contain oats which are a natural cleanser. Babies are more susceptible to skin conditions such as eczema as their skin barrier is not yet fully developed. So harsh cleansers like Soap or Body Washes can add to the problem by disrupting the skin barrier as it makes the pH of the skin too alkaline. In addition, oats will soothe any skin irritation associated with nappy rash or eczema.
Plus the added cocoa butter helps the skin barrier retain moisture. I know that Basil's baths will be gently cleansing but not drying to his skin.❤
Little Miss loves to hold them in her hand so it's two birds with one stone as well! 😄

Remembering my 3 little loves

H O L D I N G . . . Basil is 13 weeks and school has just gone back. Poor little B is not his usual self, maybe it's leap 3, or maybe he's a bit stuffy. But right now everything is done with either one hand or while I'm standing with him in a wrap.
I'm obsessed with wrapping at the mo. I don't know how I managed with eve (maybe I didn't? ) but at least I can make a cup of tea with basil wrapped.
My wrap was invaluable while on our recent little holiday.. seriously it would have been impossible to get into the airport or on the plane without it. And I treated myself to a wrap for home. The only problem now is I'm obsessed with buying wraps 😯. I need one for thr car obviously. 🤣
So help my shopping addiction by telling me the best wrap for summer!

E X P E C T A T I O N . . .thinking back to those days when Bubble was still in my tummy I had no expectations of what he should be. Yet I still had expectations of me. I WOULD be fine this time. I would beat PND. I had worked so hard over the past 6 years to change how I lived, how I thought. I expected more of myself. But what I couldn't change was biology.
If only someone had told me this before. So much of my life would have made sense. Oestrogen. That glorious female hormone. Turns out that drops in my oestrogen levels causes my depression. Hence why my PND happened so fast both times. And why it responds so quickly to medication.
I never knew why I got depressed, just circumstance, or negative thinking? Sure both of these play a role. But to know that this is also hormonal for me blows my mind. How can I expect myself to overcome that?
Having Basil has shown me that I still need to be wary of my own expectations of myself. That sometimes things are out of my control and I need to be flexible to account for this. Parenthood really is the biggest lesson about you. You learn, you grow and you adjust, just like the little love you are bringing up.
