December in the Beauty Industry hits different 😂
12+ hour days, running on caffeine, sugar & adrenaline. But I say it every year, if it wasn’t this busy, I’d be worried. I’m so grateful I get to do what I love everyday & to each of you for your trust and support 💜🎄

When I was studying my Beauty Therapy Diploma 19 years ago, I saw it not just as an opportunity to have a career in a job that I love, but one that could shift and grow with me at each life stage. I always had the goal to have a home based salon, and to be able to run things in a way that made my clients feel comfortable, safe and appreciated. And to also create a business that has allowed me to be there for all the fun Mum stuff (while the kids still want me to be there 😜). I’m so glad (and to be honest, shocked) that I didn’t have any hesitation or that nasty imposter syndrome creep into my plans, i knew what I wanted and just knew it would happen!
So thank you to every one of you for playing such an important role in making this little dream of mine a reality & continued success. Now bring on the silly season 🎄🤪💜

How can your water intake affect your waxing?
💧Increase pain: dry skin can be more sensitive, which can make hair removal more painful. Wax can also be quite grippy on dry skin, so it can feel more uncomfortable when it comes off.
💧More skin irritation: dehydrated skin can make your skin more prone to irritation which could equal more redness, inflammation & even breakouts after waxing.
💧Higher risk of ingrown hairs: it’s much harder for new hair to grown through dry skin. And if the hair itself is lacking hydration, it’s going to be more prone to breakage. Together it’s the perfect recipe for ingrowns, and that’s not something anyone wants to be baking!
💧Less effective results: along with the aforementioned ingrown risk, your dry skin could be sticking to the wax more than the hair we’re aiming to remove, which means I come at you with the tweezers more during your appointment, and nobody wants that 😆

I know how tricky it can be to keep your water intake up, especially in cold weather, but getting a great wax result is just another reason it’s going to be good for you. And of course, don’t forget to exfoliate & moisturise every 2nd to 3rd day 😉
