; How much do you spend on makeup?

I remember when I first started freelancing. I felt so inadequate and embarrassed by how small my makeup kit was. As if it was the measurement of my success or skillset as an artist.

Now I give that baby mua a huge hug because it was that tiny kit that taught me the value of resourcefulness.

Over the years, I’ve definitely tried through so many products and honestly, have wasted soo much money too. Constantly being at a loss with my business by over spending on product that wasn’t needed. And its a hard cycle to break when over-consumption of things is the norm.

I mean, IG is just one giant pool of advertisements.

But now, I have what I need and love making conscious purchases. Whether that be out of necessity, environmental/ ethical practices or if I align with the company themselves - but that’s a whole other rabbit hole that I’ll get into later 😅

I love my tiny kit. I’ve learnt to be so creative with what I have. Learning how to use all of my products to their fullest potential has definitely made me a better artist and a quicker one too.

Becoming a better artist also calls for creative problem solving.

After all, as a freelancer I can’t be spending all of my money on makeup (I wish I could though 🥺) .

Using black eyeliner blended inwards. Topping with “Dalla” from masquerade mini palette that was mixed into aqua seal to create a liquid eyeshadow.
