My love of skin care began at an early age while watching my grandmother’s nightly ritual of cleansing and moisturising. I remember the beautiful aroma of her face cream and the way she showed me how to correctly apply the cream in upward strokes, gently patting around the delicate eye area. While studying massage and aromatherapy, I became particularly interested in the way oils interact with our skin. Oils are more easily absorbed into the lipid barrier of the skin than water-containing substances and don’t require preservatives or emulsifiers, which can disrupt the sensitive barrier layers of the skin. Pure plant oils, while offering their own powerful benefits, are an effective way to deliver functional ingredients deep into the skin. After much research, I was unable to find a product that gave me everything I was looking for in a facial oil, so I decided to create one, initially for my own use. I have combination skin – sometimes oily and sometimes dry depending on the time of the month and the weather. My skin can also be sensitive, especially when exposed to certain chemicals found in common skin care products. After refining the formula over several years, I knew I had created something really special. I gave samples to family, friends, colleagues and even my beauty therapist! The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and I soon began receiving requests for more. I knew it was time to share my formula and decided to launch Ella Searle, named in honour of my grandmother, who had the most radiant skin I’ve ever seen. Facial Oil Ingredients:
