I’m lucky enough to have not one but two fluted glass barber poles—one from my father and the other from my Nonno. This quirky style was believed to be a Japanese design from the 1940s–50s, and they’ve always held a special place in our family’s barbering story. Julz was fortunate enough to track down a similar one, but honestly… they just don’t make them like this anymore.

Excited and honored to be passing the barber pole to the next generation of owners with the barbershop newly branded as Rod and Jim’s Barbershop.

Roddy l’s been a loyal leader by my side for the past 7yrs. And Jimmy’s worked his way up from the front desk to behind the chair & now into ownership. It makes me incredibly proud! Words can’t express how much it means to see them take this exciting next step.

As the shop transitions to the boys, I’ll still be behind the chair for the next few months. Nothing’s changing… same great shop, same great barbers.

After 15 years in Port Melbourne Uncle Rocco’s will be taking a break, but will be back.

With Barbering in his blood and Juventus in his heart, Mass is passionate and proud to be employing his trade at Uncle Rocco’s. He takes immense pride in his craft and claims that learning to cut hair at Uncle Rocco’s is like being taught to kick a football by Maradona. Whether you’re looking for a classic cut or a new style, Mass is committed to providing you with his service!
