Today, we took on a job to swap out an old continuous-flow water heater for a brand-new storage tank system in a pretty old house. On paper, the plan sounded simple enough: remove the old wall unit, level out the ground, and set up the new tank.
But as soon as we stepped into the backyard, we knew this wasn't going to be a walk in the park!
The ground was uneven, clutter was everywhere, and the weather was absolutely freezing 🥶. But what really made us pause and rethink was the wiring—it was running everywhere around those metal pipes!
In older homes like this, if you're not paying attention and blindly cut into a copper pipe without checking for live currents first, you could easily get electrocuted.

Despite the biting cold, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of wrapping up a job that’s not only clean and tidy, but 100% safe for the client.

Today we're replacing a mixer behind a tiled wall. Couldn't take out the cartridge from the front — so we cut out the tile to get proper access.
New mixer in, test fitted to make sure everything sat right.
Before we put the tile back — ran a lot of water and checked thoroughly for leaks. All clear.
Then we sealed the tile back in with silicone and let the client know — don't use the water until it's completely dry.
