Yeah, we know it’s honestly a bit of false advertising.

When they say “permanent colour,” they don’t mean it permanently changes your hair’s structure. It just means the colour won’t wash out the way a toner does, but you’ll still need maintenance to keep it looking vibrant.

It’s not going to seep into your scalp and change how your hair grows in, either. Your DNA still calls the shots on your natural hair colour, so your roots will always grow in as they normally would.

So even something like a “permanent” brown over your natural color is going to need touch-ups over time; there’s really no way around that.
