What a Day! 🤍

➳ taylah jay and I had the absolute pleasure of spending the weekend in Adelaide learning alongside the incredible team from Haus of Vakai at JAMES THE SALON Glenelg — and it was one of those experiences that leaves you feeling completely inspired.

Learning from people who are not only incredibly talented at what they do, but genuinely open about sharing their knowledge, experience and passion for the industry is something pretty special.

A huge thank you to KAINE VAKAI HAIR — Colourist, Extension Specialist & Owner, for welcoming us into his world and sharing so much of the knowledge and experience behind what he has created.

Emma Wilson - Haus of Vakai — Master Colourist, whose knowledge, attention to detail and approach to colour was incredible to watch.

Gracie - Haus of Vakai — Extension & Colour Specialist, sharing her techniques, experience and some seriously beautiful work.

And Ayden Vakai — Brand Manager & Business Educator, bringing another whole side to the day with insight into the business, brand and thinking that sits behind it all.

We came home with fresh ideas, new techniques, plenty of inspiration and, most importantly, an even bigger excitement for where we’re taking ColourKing next.

There is always more to learn, more to refine and another level to reach — and Taylah and I are so excited to bring a little piece of what we learnt back to our clients in Mildura.

The last Deb 🫶🏻

A little bittersweet knowing this was the last Deb I’ll be doing, but I couldn’t think of a more special one to finish on.

I’ve had the absolute privilege of doing this beautiful girl’s hair for longer than I’ve even had ColourKing, which made being part of such a special milestone even more meaningful.

It was truly an honour and a pleasure to be part of your day. Thank you for trusting me with your hair and so many special moments over the years. 🫶🏻

As many of you know, we’re working behind the scenes on some exciting plans for the future, and we’d love your help.

We’re looking for recommendations for local builders, plumbers and other quality trades who have experience with commercial fit-outs.

The project will involve:
• Internal wall demolition and construction
• Bathroom renovation
• Salon plumbing installation
• Beauty room construction
• General refurbishment and fit-out

A little update… 🤍

We’ve had a few questions after a recent post, so we wanted to clear things up.

ColourKing isn’t closing. We’re simply exploring the possibility of relocating to a larger, more modern space that better reflects our vision for the future.

As part of that process, we’re seeing if there’s interest in our current salon fit-out for someone wanting to start or expand their own business.

For now, it’s business as usual. All appointments are continuing as normal, and we’ll keep everyone updated as plans progress.

We can’t wait to share what the future has in store… stay tuned! ✨
