What will my skin look like 7 days post CO2 laser?

One week on, the last day of my CO2 diary. Tone and texture are noticeably more even than pre-treatment, the glow is real, not filtered. Still a bit of dryness on the outer edges, which is completely normal this stage.

Everyone’s timeline looks a little different depending on skin type and how deep the resurfacing went, so this is my healing, not a universal promise.

What does Laser Genesis actually sound like?

We asked the girls to demonstrate, with their mouths, no less. Real Laser Genesis footage, real (questionable) sound effects.

If you’ve never had it done and you’re picturing something loud or scary, this is your answer: it’s closer to “warm rain on the skin” than anything dramatic, no pain, no downtime, just gentle warmth.

What will my skin look like 6 days post CO2 laser?

First day wearing makeup today, and it’s not a case of reaching for anything in the drawer. Sticking with Guiya Minerals to keep supporting recovery while covering. The Zinc BB Cream is non-comedogenic, with green tea and h**p seed oil to calm the skin, kaolin clay and rice powder to absorb excess oil for a smoother finish without heavy foundation, and squalane, glycerin and hyaluronic acid to keep the skin from drying out through the day.

Makeup timing post-CO2 comes down to what’s actually going on the skin, not just how many days have passed. This is guidance our dermal therapists give every client before they reach for their makeup bag again.

Dry, rough, and flaking more today, the skin’s working through its natural shedding phase.

Building further on yesterday’s routine with DMK Melanotech Drops, iS Clinical Pro Heal Serum, DMK Herbal Pigment Oil with DMK Herb & Mineral Mist, Daily Dynamic Hydrator, and SPF.

What does skin look like three days after CO2? 💥

Dry, itchy, tight, and flaking has started. The skin’s moving into its next recovery phase. Today’s the first day back on more of my regular routine: iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, Pro Heal Advance+ Serum, Daily Dynamic Hydrator, and SPF. Products get reintroduced in stages, not all at once, each one earns its place back in once the skin’s ready for it.
This staged reintroduction is exactly how our dermal therapists guide every client off the initial post-CO2 protocol.

What does skin look like two days after CO2?

Swelling’s come down since yesterday, but today brings its own stage, skin’s itchy, shinier than usual, and the grid marks from treatment are still visible and darkening slightly. All part of the process, not a setback. Last day of the saline soak today, then Stratacel and SPF. Homecare stays simple while the skin moves through recovery.

This is the exact stage our dermal therapists talk clients through in every CO2 review. The itch and the grid darkening are expected, not a red flag.

This is what real recovery looks like at day 1, not a worst-case warning or a miracle glow.

Keeping it calm right now is simple: saline soak with saline solution, followed by Stratacel, sun protection and nothing else for the first 48 hours. No actives, no extras, the routine is stripped right back while the skin does its job.

RF Microneedling: Is it painful, and what is the downtime? 💥

One of the most common questions we get — and the answer is, it’s more comfortable than you might expect!

Before your treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to help keep you comfortable. During the treatment, you may feel a combination of heat, pressure and tiny prickling sensations. Some areas can feel more sensitive than others, but most clients find the treatment manageable.

After your treatment, it’s completely normal for the skin to appear red and feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn. You may also experience some swelling, sensitivity or dryness as your skin settles.

For most clients, the initial redness and warmth settles within 24–72 hours, making RF Microneedling a great option if you’re looking for powerful collagen stimulation without significant downtime.

Do I Need Numbing Cream For CO2 and RF Microneedling?

Short answer: yes, and honestly, you’d want it even if we didn’t suggest it.

CO2 Laser (Secret Pro): A topical numbing cream is applied 30–45 minutes before treatment. Level 1 Gentle Peel is tolerable without it, but for Level 2 Fractional Resurfacing, numbing isn’t optional, it’s what makes the treatment doable.

RF Microneedling: Same protocol. Numbing cream sits on the skin for around 30-45 minutes before we start. The needles themselves are fine, it’s the radiofrequency heat that most clients feel without it, numbing takes that off the table.

Neither treatment is a “grit your teeth through it” experience when done properly. Most clients describe both as warm, prickly, or a bit of pressure, not painful.

Bring nothing, plan for nothing, just factor in the extra 30–45 minutes before your actual treatment time starts, and you’re set.
