Nudie Skin Studio

You’re going to start seeing a new, beautiful face inside the walls of Nudie Skin Studio and her name is Amanda. Some of you may even recognise her from before Nudie started…. Long story short, Amanda was my manager at a skin clinic before I opened Nudie. Amanda taught me how to consult and customise treatments, the same way I still do now. When I started toying with the idea of a career change, I was thinking, well, who would I trust my clients with? Who would look after my clients better than I look after them? The only person I could think of was Amanda and lo and behold, she had opened up her own little studio in Ascot Vale. I thought I’d shoot my shot, and the stars aligned. Amanda was looking for a new lease, I was looking to sell the business on to someone I could wholeheartedly trust, and here we are.

Amanda runs Your Skin Room , and over the next few weeks and months, Nudie will become Your Skin Room. Amanda is moving in on the 12th of October. She is skin passionate. Mandy knows skin better than anyone I know and she gives a killer head, neck, and shoulder massage. Your face is in the safest, calmest, most knowledgeable hands when she’s treating, and your mind and body are equally taken care of. Know that what I know and the skills I’ve learned came from her. In saying that, Amanda will do things a little differently. Your first appointment or two will probably be quite focused on your skin and your goals and getting to know you, but I encourage you to embrace it. Embrace the change, embrace the guidance, because I know you and your skin will love you for it. She offers the same treatments I do, plus some, and we use the same products in your treatments. She is even bringing some old treatments and products back that most of you will recognise and love again. I encourage you to start following Mandy on social media so that you’re comfortable and familiar with her. I just know once you meet her, you’ll be at ease with the change, as she will make you look and feel a million bucks.

A letter to my beautiful, loyal friends,

What an amazing (almost) 7 years it’s been. With a heavy, but ready heart, I’m writing this to let you know that it’s my time to step away from Nudie Skin Studio, my home and heart since 2019, and pass the reins onto someone special who’s come back into my life, and that I know you’ll
love..

Many of you have been on this journey with me before Nudie even existed, and many of you have hopped aboard our train since. All of you, however, I am beyond grateful for.

I’m ready for something new. My passion has not gone, I can assure you that. You are still and have been getting the very best from me, maybe even a little more than usual, as deep down, I’ve known my time was coming to an end. I’ve been doing this year in year out since I was 17, and I’ve decided that I am ready for a completely new career in a completely different industry…. not even closely related to beauty and skin!

Owning a small business since I was 24, taking over a commercial lease, and taking on huge financial
responsibilities is something that I will forever be proud of. Creating an income that funded a big part of my family’s life with minimal stress was something that I never expected and due to your loyalty and love, that was possible. There have been some amazing highs, freedom, and flexibility that I will not have in any other career or ‘job’.

On the other hand, I have worked incredibly hard for this, which meant 2 pregnancies, working up until 4-7 days before each baby was born, and back treating clients within their first months of life, working every weekend, and
not experiencing holidays or time off because the show had to go on. There were times, especially in those early years, that I expected the work to dry up, for it all to fizzle out, but
thanks to you, it kept going. I really cannot express my gratitude for your support, your loyalty, your encouragement, your feedback, your time, and effort to make my business thrive.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to you.

To my incredible community that becomes such dear friends, thank you for all your love and support not only in 2023 but for the past 5 years since I opened Nudie.

I’ve enjoyed (although I have been down and out with a virus since finishing up work for the year) having what Harrex calls ‘Home Days’ where we can hang out together and ride bikes and do the stuff the kids love and we enjoy watching them do. It’s been nice to stop and have a break ahead of what is going to be a big year.

Next year I’ve taken on an amazing opportunity to teach the next generation of beauty therapy leaders at .institute . I’m so excited for this next step.

Rest assured you can still catch me at Nudie, just at slightly reduced hours!
