There has been an increase in reports of scammers impersonating police officers by using official QPS phone numbers, in an attempt to obtain personal details to conduct fraudulent activity.

Offenders hide their real phone number while displaying a different number indicating they’re from a trusted organisation such as QPS.

Police across Australia have also seen a rise in ‘Chinese authority’ scams, which target members of the Chinese community, particularly international students, asking them to transfer money or cryptocurrency.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at EmpowerLink 💐
Today we’re celebrating the amazing mums, grandmas, step-mums, and mother figures who somehow manage to do it all (and still remember where everything is 😄).
Thank you for the love, the laughs and the life advice.
Wishing you a day filled with appreciation, relaxation, and maybe even a little peace and quiet.

Today, we pause. We remember the courage, mateship, and sacrifice of all those who’ve served and continue to serve. From the sunburnt shores of Gallipoli to every corner of Australia and beyond, their stories remind us of resilience, heart, and the quiet strength in standing together.
We honour their memory with gratitude in our hearts.
Here’s to the diggers, past and present — may we never forget, and may we always carry their spirit forward.
🇦🇺 Lest We Forget

✨⭐️ Some days, getting out of bed is a victory. Other days, it’s answering that one message or going for a short walk.
We don’t talk enough about the little wins—but they matter. They build momentum. They remind us that progress isn’t always loud or visible. Sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and deeply personal.
If today feels heavy, be gentle with yourself. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just take the next small step. Then another.

Celebrate the small things today—they count more than you know. ✨⭐️

The NDIS Commission has gained new powers under recently passed legislation.

These powers enable us to take stronger regulatory action, increase safeguards for people with disability, and protect the sustainability of the Scheme.

Key changes include:

☑️ Stronger penalty frameworks, including increased civil penalties of over $15 million, and criminal offences with up to five years' imprisonment
☑️ Measures to restrict aggressive and misleading marketing tactics
☑️ Stronger information gathering powers

Support work can involve a lot of travel, but that doesn’t mean it’s all unpaid!

Under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award, if you’re required (and allowed!) to use your own vehicle for work, you must be paid a $0.99 allowance for each kilometre that’s added to your odometer.

This includes travel involving duties like transporting laundry🧺, food 🍝 or medication 💊 for a client, and driving between locations during a period of work (like from one client to another).

Oh, and this travel counts as ✨ time worked ✨ so you should be paid your wages as well!
