LETS TALK BROW STAIN ↓

If you’ve had your brows done before, or looked into brow services, you’ve probably heard of tints, dyes, henna & stain.

Tint is the OG, with a soft brown - deep black colour range and a “toner” like effect, coating the outside of the hair but wearing off relatively quickly. From there, brow henna became a thing which had great staying power (if you were happy with either BLACK brows or a lighter colour with weird orangey/yellow undertones) & then dye, which imo was great in that it would pe*****te the hair and lasted longer than tint but colour range was difficult to work with

In comes stain;

Colour range of tint, can do a soft blonde right through to a deep brunette ✔️
Staying power of henna without the need to go ultra dark or have a weird undertone ✔️
Penetrates the brow hair like dye does ✔️
& can stain the skin beautifully, filling in any lil gappy bits.

Basically, it’s a win all round and a go to in the bd brow studio 🤎

Third Christmas spent in my most favourite place, and I still can’t quite believe what the BD biz has grown into 🥹

This lil hive of activity is FULL of laughs, friendships, tears, stories shared with courage & vulnerability, people feeling ready to try things for the first time ever (hello spray tans 🤎) beautiful groups of brides + friends and ofc, lash & brow magic.

My main mission has always been to break industry norms and create change towards inclusivity and normalising normal bodies, and it honestly lights me up inside to know it’s become the sort of place that younger me needed, and in turn has helped so many feel like they are okay and welcome just as they are - as they should.

📣 PSA 📣 bridal spray tanning is totally different to regular spray tanning -

Why?

The contrast between a white bridal gown and a gorg spray tanned skin is something that absolutely needs to be nailed as professional photography will ALWAYS 👏🏼 pick up and accentuate whatever undertone the tan is throwing against the crisp white.

The brief for this beautiful big day was deep & dark, but make it natural.

As each bridal party member was in white, we opted for a longer wear rapid rinse (4 hours) in an earthy tone to ensure zero warmth reflecting back.

One of my ultimate fave brow styles is the “undone” look. It’s tidy, it’s soft, it’s low maintenance, easy to wear & great for growing in brow hair without feeling like the brows are wild n wooly. Combined with a soft lami, we get the brow fuller looking and styled with very minimal effort. 🤩

Can you believe this custom bridal tan was only worn for 45 mins before rinsing? 🤯👇🏼

I got to spray the BEAUTIFUL Madison for both her hens (swipe for pic) & her special day. 🥹 Both times we used the same custom mixed solution (earthy tone, 20% DHA) but altered the length of time it was worn before being rinsed - hens we went for 90 minutes for a bit more oomph, and for her wedding day it was worn for only 45 mins 🤯 to give a beautiful depth to the skin without feeling like a super ~tanned~ tan.

High quality DHA in the correct % properly colour matched to the unique skin in front of us means we can get these results quickly. 🤎

BD BRIDE BROOKE 🍾

I met the beautiful Brooke back in Jan for her trial tan, then got to tan her & her girls (plus her mama) for her big day in Feb ✨

Each bridal party member started at a super different skin tone/depth, ranging from fair through to naturally quite tanned SO the aim was to find a 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 (meaning base colour, e.g green/red/blue/black/brown/violet etc etc etc) that matched rather than trying to get the 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵 to be the same for everyone (meaning light/light medium/medium etc etc etc)

Matching the tone but adjusting the depth to suit the natural Fitz type means everyone can be at a depth that works for them without the skin overloading and throwing orange.

The result was a tan that works with lighter outfit colours and kept its tone & had everyone feeling beautiful 🤎
