Making luxurious lashes the standard…🍸✨

So much has happened in the past five years. A lot of it learned through experience, but also through mentors, coaches, and online courses along the way. Here’s what I’ve learned…
Freedom is success, and they’re not always the same thing.
Busy means profitable. I work three days a week now and earn more than I did back then. Same industry, completely different measure of success.
Boundaries run the business now. A business without them isn’t a business, it’s just being available to everyone else.
Skill gets you clients. Understanding pricing, systems, and structure is what actually gets you a business. That gap is the whole reason Aurora Co exists.
If any of this sounds familiar, that’s exactly who our offers were built for.

Can we talk about how “luxury” has become a word people slap on things instead of something people actually feel?
Luxury branding isn’t about price, it’s about what the brand signals: exclusivity, craftsmanship, experience.
It has to show up consistently, everywhere, not just in the product.
And the second a brand starts hard-selling or over-explaining its value, it stops feeling luxury and starts feeling like it’s trying too hard.
1:1 mentorship available for those who want guidance building a authentic luxury brand.
I automated everything this year. Bills, savings, transfers, all of it running in the background so I never had to look. And honestly, I didn’t expect it to make such a difference…
Money started staying in my account. Actually building up instead of getting anxiously watched and spent the second it landed. Then more of it started showing up. I wasn’t working any harder, I was just not checking anymore.
Turns out there’s actually reasoning for that.
Your subconscious can’t tell the difference between “I’m just being aware” and “I’m scared.” It just feels the fear and starts building around it. Every panicked glance at your balance is training your mind to expect scarcity, and that shows up in how you price, how you talk to clients, what you think you’re allowed to charge.
There’s a physical side too. Checking your balance in fear spikes cortisol. And running high cortisol constantly as a business owner wrecks you, not just the business. You can’t think clearly. You get reactive. You say yes when you should say no, and no when you should say yes, just to make the anxious feeling stop. Do that long enough and it wears you down completely.
Then there’s your Reticular Activating System. It’s the part of your brain deciding what you actually notice out of everything happening around you, and it filters based on what you focus on, especially when there’s emotion attached to it.
Feed it fear every morning and it filters your whole day through scarcity. You miss the opportunity because your brain was never looking for it in the first place.
So I stopped checking. Trusted in my systems, started focusing on what I was building instead of what I was scared of losing.
And I haven’t gone back. Mindset shifts are one of the biggest things you can develop as a business owner.

It’s so common for beauty business owners to have no idea what’s actually happening with their business finances and honestly, I’ve been there too.
When I first opened my salon, I was constantly paying bills, buying products and finding reasons why I needed to spend money. It wasn’t intentional, our subconscious can actually influence the way we make financial decisions without us even realising it.
After a lot of trial and error, I created my 4 Account System. Simple structure designed to help you know exactly where your money is going, stop treating your entire bank balance as “available,” and actually start holding onto the money your business makes.
And that’s exactly why I’m here to help you do the same and keep you accountable. 🤍

I used to blame the adhesive too. Then I learned this…
Retention isn’t luck. It’s chemistry, and most artists were never taught that part. Lash science is SO important!
If a set is falling out early, it’s typically not “bad glue.” It’s usually one of these:
Humidity too low, so the adhesive can’t cure properly.
Not cleansing (or cleansing wrong), so oil is breaking the bond before it’s even had a chance to set.
A fan only attached to one side of the lash, less surface contact, more room for debris to sneak in underneath.
Wrong lash weight for that client’s natural lash health, which sets the set up to fail before they’ve even left your chair.
Not properly mixing your glue prior to application. The individual compounds all play a part, when not properly combined issues start to occur.
None of this is random. Every one of those things is something you can control once you understand what’s actually happening at the bond.
That’s the whole difference between technicians who follow steps and artists who understand the why behind each and every one of them.
If you think like this, don’t be a lash artist…
“Lashes are simple.” So far from the truth. Lashing is complex, and truly understanding it takes time you can’t rush.
“You earn a lot of money.” You CAN. But business finance, policies, product cost and overheads all factor into pricing. $50-$80 full sets? You’re not earning anything, you’re scrapping by.
“More glue means it’ll stick better.” The more glue, the worse it gets. Every time.
“One curl suits every client.” No. Just no. Some curls are versatile, CC and C are suitable on most people, but the right curl comes down to face shape, eye shape, eye planes and so much more. Not a default setting.
This industry doesn’t need more people winging it. It needs artists who actually understand what they’re doing and care about it too.
If any of this stung a little, that’s the sign to go learn the why, not just the how.
Things I DON’T care about as a lash artist 🤍
There’s this idea that you need to be the perfect client when you come into a lash studio. My space is designed for you to relax, switch off and feel completely comfortable, so here’s what I genuinely don’t care about:
Sleeping through your reservation. Please do!! Eyes closed, zero conversation required, take the rest.
Asking to use the bathroom. Just tell me, we’ll pause and pick back up.
Having a drink. Coffee, water, iced latte, ask for as many sips as you want, mid appointment snack? Also okay 🥂
Unhinged, TMI conversation. Vent away. Whatever’s said in this room stays in this room.
If you’ve picked your lashes… that’s all I’m going to say.
Wanting a style I didn’t recommend. I’ll always give my honest professional opinion based on your natural lashes, eye shape and lash health. But they’re your lashes, ultimately your call.
My role is to educate and guide, not dictate. Luxury isn’t about being intimidating, it’s about creating a space where you can actually relax.
Come in tired. Have your coffee. Ask for the bathroom. Fall asleep. Vent about your ex. Tell me what you want. I’ll handle the rest 🤍
