Natural beauty
There is nothing more special when you have known someone since they were a young teenager and they ask you to be their makeup artist on their wedding day. It was so much fun spending the day with beautiful Sarah Marshall, the bridal party and her lovely family. 🀍

Lovely Jami Lee preparing for her maternity beach shoot today. I love it when clients are happy to let their freckles come through, why hide natural beauty, no edits, just great light.

Not all of my clients like to be seen on social media, I am exactly the same but I feel I need to share the beauty of these eyes, hopefully she won’t be too mad at me 🫣 πŸ’•

Hair Styling & Makeup for beautiful Kara, Year 12 Formal 🀩

A little look at my process (not the only one 😜)

When applying Formal makeup for a natural beauty like Kara, tricks or heavy layers of product just are not necessary, however I have a strict pre application routine that hasn’t changed in almost 30 years that I follow for everyone.

My basic plan before applying any makeup is, to ask questions, relax my client, agree on design, discuss allergies, irritations etc. skin preparation, cleansing, eyebrow sculpting, priming, eyelash application (if sensitive eyes, to avoid eye make destruction) lip balm and finally check for any reactions.

As an educator we always follow a step by step routine which makes learning easier, however at the end of the day it comes down to what the client wants, not everyone wants to be sculpted and highlighted to the max so I always make sure I establish the boundaries first, then check along the way, I believe this is important to avoid any chance of disappointment on completion.

Good quality products are paramount in quality outcomes, especially for media captures and I have tried and tested many brands over the years, my old faves amongst lots of various pigment palettes are Make up For Ever, MAC and Viseart Professional Makeup.
