I’ve always been pretty open and honest about the reality of running a small business, and I don’t want to only show up and share the good days.

So… who else is feeling the pinch right now? Because we definitely are.

The last few months have been extremely slow. Honestly, I haven’t even stepped foot into the warehouse in what feels like forever because there simply haven’t been orders coming through to need to.

And that’s a really strange feeling after spending six years building this little business.

There have been times where I could barely keep up with orders, where I was constantly making, packing, restocking and ordering more stock… and now I have shelves full of products just sitting there and haven’t had the financial means to order/make more.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy or to pressure anyone into buying something. It’s us simply showing up and sharing where things are at as we know how bloody expensive life is right now because we’re feeling it hard in our own household too.

Groceries, fuel, bills, rent, mortgages… everything costs more, and understandably things like wax melts, bath products and little treats for ourselves move further down the priority list.

I think it’s important to show this side of a small business as it’s not always running smoothly.

Running a small business through times like this is HARD. There are still bills to pay, stock sitting on shelves and all the usual costs of keeping a business running even when the orders aren’t coming in.

A & D Home and Body has been part of our lives for six years, and I’m incredibly grateful for every single person who has supported us during that time.

Sometimes “supporting small” doesn’t even have to mean spending money. ❤️
